Waking up during the summer is easy. I'm awaken by my two year old. We eat, get dressed then head to the sandlot to play baseball till his nap time. When it's time for his nap we head back to the house for a while then we head back till dinner. So you see summer days with a toddler are easy, (at least for me)but now that it's the first day of school (my senior year) it's hard the complete opposite really.

"Dada dada dada wake up wake up,"my two year toddler said jumping on to my bed.
"Ok ok Cavin I'm up I'm up," I say as I tickle the toddler. I look over at my alarm clock and see it's 5. "How did you get out of your crib?" I ask him carrying him to his room to change his diaper and get him ready for daycare. "I climbed out like Uncle Ham taught me." Of course Ham taught him that. "I guess it's time to get you a big boy bed huh?" I asked him. "Really dada I can get a big boy bed?" He asked jumping up and down on after I changed him into his clothes.

"Maybe baby now daddy needs to take a shower so can you get your passie and blankie and lay in my bed?" I asked him picking him up as well as grabbing his blanket and pacifier

"Maybe baby now daddy needs to take a shower so can you get your passie and blankie and lay in my bed?" I asked him picking him up as well as grabbing his blanket and pacifier. "Yes dada," he says laying his head on my shoulder.
I laid him in my bed turning on a show for him, "ok bubba daddy's going to take a shower then I can make you breakfast. Do you want anything before I take a shower?" "Can I have a bottle?" "Yes bubba I'll be right back," I say going to make him a bottle.

"Bubba come on you need to eat so you can go to daycare," I tell Cavin bringing a spoon of yogurt to his mouth. "NO!" He yells "Cavin Grey no your going to timeout," I tell him picking him out of his high chair. He knows I mean business because, I never put him in timeout because of his mom.

"Dada Dada I sorry I sorry," he says hugging my neck. "I know you are but your still going to timeout," I tell him placing him in the corner. "I'm going to get my school bag and your bag for daycare and when I get back we can try to eat your food again," I tell him walking out of the living room and going to mine and his room.

"Thank you for eating your yogurt buddy," I say buckling him in to the back seat of my truck. "Your welcome dada."

I start driving to his daycare and once we pull in its about 7:25. "ok buddy are you going to be daddy's big boy and not cry or do you want me to stay here for a few minutes?" I ask him. He always has a hard time with me leaving him. It's probably because his mom left him 6 months ago and he hasn't seen or heard from her since. We broke up before we found out she was pregnant, and I refused to be like some of the other teen dad and leave my kid. He was MY kid.

"I want you to stay for this many minutes," he told me holding up four fingers. "ok bubba i will stay for four minutes," I said getting his bag and him out of the car seat.

After four minutes I said my goodbyes to Cavin and went to the front to tell them updates. "ok so I'm trying to get him off the bottle so if he asks for one during his nap give him his passie I'm letting him keep that till he's fully of the bottle." "Ok Mr.Rodriguez got it did you pack a bottle?" "Yes ma'am just incase he can have one if he gets hurt and won't calm down try calling me first tho." "Ok we got it I'll see you after you get out of school." "Yes ma'am it should be me picking him up," I tell them walking out the door.

I pull up to the school with 15 minutes to spare so I go look for the sandlot boys once I find them, and I go straight to Ham. "I hate you just so you know." "why? what did I do?" He asks me. "You taught my two year old how to climb out of his crib so now I have to turn it in to a training bed. You know that's going to take a whole weekend of me just trying to get him to stay in his bed let alone sleep in it," I said. Once he figured out what I was getting at he started laughing. "You lost baby privilege's, for two weeks"I said walking away and going to my first class. "That's no fair I want to see the baby!" he yells at me. I laugh walking away knowing he would show up at our door later.

As I was walking in to my first class I sat down in the middle of the class and waited for the class to start. I was looking down at my phone looking at the pictures of my little boy that his teacher sent me. I looked up and the prettiest girl I've ever seen sat right beside me. "Hi I'm Veronica Winchester." "I'm Benny Rodriguez," I say smiling at her. "It's nice to meet a nice guy that doesn't hit on me right away or have a funny name," she says laughing. "Like this guy in the hallway said his name is Ham," she says and I start laughing. "What's so funny," "That's my best friend ignore him you get used to him eventually.I think I still can't believe he's my friend,' I say and I see her laugh. God she's beautiful.

"Here's my snap add me ok," Ronnie says to me as she's walking to her next class. I smile and nod when I feel my phone go off. I look down and see its the daycare. He better be ok. "Hello," I say into the phone walking to my next class. "Hey Benny Cavin fell of the top of the jungle gym we think his arm is broke we don't know would you like to come here then we call an ambulance or meet you at the hospital?" they ask me. As I was walking in to my class and of course Ronnie is in here. "Ummm I'll be right there try to give him his blanket or passie if those don't work give him the bottle." "ok," they say as I hang up I walk up to my teacher and tell her my son is in the hospital and I need to leave. As I was walking to the door Ronnie stopped me, "where are you going?" "my son broke his arm we think and I need to head to his daycare I'll add your snap if you still want me to." "Of course tell me how he is, and I'll bring him a toy to the hospital if yall are still there ok," she says smiling at me. "yea ok I will,"I say smiling at her walking out going to my car and driving to Cavin's day care.
