Yn's POV
I wonder around the gloomy attic. My bedroom to be exact. The attic was much bigger since I basically lived in a castle. I had a big dark green bed with black pillows. The sheets were the finest silk which was also a dark green. I didn't have much in my room. I loved only the night so I made my room my safe place. I sit on my window ledge, looking out at the abandoned town before me. The town that once was filled with love and joy. With laughter and music. So much has changed since those days.
Night falls and the stars come out. My castle was the only one on a little hill. It overlooked the whole town. Every night I would sit and stare up at the sky. But tonight was a different night. Tonight I saw a flashlight, multiple for that matter. It peaked my interest to see a white light on the ground and not up in the sky. I get to my feet as the white lights come closer to my castle. My curiosity overcome me and I head to the front door.
No floor boards creak on the way which is good. I don't want them to hear me. I swerve my way through every room before I poke my head to the hallway that's connected with the front door. I hear them rustling the door and speaking to one another ever so slightly. I pull my head back slightly as the lights shine brightly throughout the dark hallway. "Are there any spirits in here?" I knit my eyebrows together at the sudden question. I watch them go through the living room then the study before heading into the dining room.
They seem to stop and set up some objects around the room. They haven't noticed me yet which is typical but these are the first people I've seen in a long time. I look around the dining room to see three people. Two sitting at the dining table and one with a black object on his shoulder. "We're going to set up some things we have a musical device in the doorway if you want to step in front of it?" They wait for my response.
When I don't give them one they bring out another object. "There is a red light here and if you go near it, it will turn bright colours" I take a few seconds before I stand in front of the object that they said would play music. It starts playing a beautiful tune and I smile. They soon look towards me and I move out of the way. "You don't have to be afraid of us we just want to talk to you" I scoff. No one's been able to talk to me in years. I decide to sit at the end of the table. I start to get a clear view on both of the boys.
One had dirty blonde hair and sat the left of me while the other had darker hair who sat on the right of me. I take a deep breath as the blonde one speaks "I'm going to put these on so we can communicate" He holds up another black object which I was not familiar with. He put it on his head and blindfolded himself. The dark haired one turned on something on the object. "This is Sam he can hear what you are saying, so you just speak freely to us" My eyebrow raises at this and I decided to speak. "Hello?" "Hello?" The blonde one who is named Sam echoes after me. I giggle and he tells the dark haired one I giggled.
"Could you tell us your name?" "Yn, tell me your name" the dark haired one raises his eyebrows and smiles. "I'm Colby, it's nice to meet you Yn. Is this your home?" "Yes, my home" "How did you die? There are many stories but I would love to know yours" I look him up and down before tapping on the table. His eyes roam to where I'm sitting. "Are you sitting on the left of me?" " follow me"
I get up and head over the device on the floor. It plays the same music when I step in front of it. "You want us to follow you?" "Yes did you not hear me before?" Colby chuckles and nudges Sam. Sam takes off the object from his head and looks at Colby. "She wants us to follow her" I step in front of the music box to answer yes. "Then let's follow her" they grab their stuff and follow me. I tap the walls once in a while so they know where to go. I lead them up the long swirly staircase that leads to the attic.
As I sit on the window seal they set their objects up in my room. The rain starts pouring as they ask another question. "Do you need our help?" I walk over to them and sit just across from them. I tap twice for yes. "Is that a yes?" I tap on the floor again so they have confirmation. "What can we do for you?" I look around the room and find my book on the ground. "Again we have the music box over by the door, the red light that you can come near and this new device it's a ball that you can move around"
I use my strength to move the ball in the direction of my book. It moves slightly. "If you need energy you can take it from our cameras or our lights" I use my own strength again and roll it towards my book. "Do you want us to read that?" I tap twice on the floor. Colby gets up and grabs the book that I rolled the ball to. He sits back in his spot. "What is this Yn?" I look to Sam then stand up. I walk over to the window where the moon shines through. The glass has become foggy from the rain so I use it. I write 'Story' on it, hoping that they can see it clearly.
They both get up and head over to the window. "Is this book a story of your life?" I knock twice on the wall beside Colby and he jumps. I smile to myself. "Yn can we take pictures of this?" My smile grows as Colby looks around cautiously. I stand beside Sam and knock twice on the wall. "Yn just for confirmation we can take pictures of your book?" I knock twice on the old wall.
Sam sits back down and starts taking photos of the book. Colby puts on the black object and blindfold. I take this as my opportunity and sit right in front of him.
"Yn?" "Can you hear me?" He smiles and nods.
