KIRSTIE
I ran my hand through my hair breathing in the fresh spring air. I sighed. Another sleepless night. I looked up at the beautiful night sky, full of stars and a bright full moon. Do you ever look at the sky and wonder what's it like to live with no regrets, no hurt, no pain.... I closed my eyes letting the darkness engulf me.
"Can't sleep huh?" A sweet voice echoed behind me. I turned slightly my awakened vibrant green eyes meeting Mitch's sleepy brown ones.
"Nope" I said popping the "P"
He walked over standing next to me then leaning forward, arms resting on the firm wood of our balcony.
Silence filled the air we breathe in.
"You need to sleep" he says suddenly, I turned my head looking at him. His brown eyes glistening from the moonlight.
"I tried." I stated in a sharp tone. "We'll try again, come on let's go" he says as he grabs my hand slinging our fingers between each other's like a lock. I was surprised by his sudden action but, decided to brush it off as a simple friendly gesture. We walked up to my room. Dark and silent, I thought as I plopped down onto my bed laying back.
"I'll see you in the morning"
"Mitch...."
"Yes?"
I bit my lip, debating whether I should ask him.
"Could you.... Please..... Stay with me?"
"Of course" I heard him say, I felt the bed shift slightly as a body laid next to mine.
"Goodnight Kirstie"
"Goodnight Mitch" I said as my eyes became heavy and closed.
