Chapter 69 - "Aww, Couples Bonding. How Cute."

Start from the beginning

Race was so tired that he didn't think, he just said he loved Spot back, before he fell asleep.

Spot smiles, carefully readjusting the two of them a bit, before he too fell asleep.

In the next morning

Race woke up to a bang.

Half asleep, Race groans softly. His eyes were still closed. He slowly forces himself to open his eyes, finding Spot getting dressed.

Spot was buttoning up his shirt when he heard Race's soft groans. He looks over to find Race's eyes slowly opening.

God, how Spot loved those beautiful blue eyes.

"Sorry." Spot chuckles softly. "Accidentally knocked something over." He informs his boyfriend.

"What time is it?" Race whispers, pulling the blankets up to his chin, but still forcing his eyes to stay open.

"Around the time that I'd usually wake the Newsies up." Spot answers.

Race nods, forcing himself to sit up.

Spot looks over at him. "You know, you can sleep for a few more minutes, if you'd like." He tells him. "You didn't sleep well and I can always come wake you up after everyone else," he states, grabbing his hat.

Race yawns, shaking his head as he stretches. He lets his arms fall to his sides and looks up at Spot. "Can I help?" His voice was soft.

Spot was reminded why he loved this boy. Not that he ever questioned why, but he swore he fell harder and harder for Race everyday.

Spot chuckles. "Sure," he answers, pulling on his suspenders. He grabs clothes from his dresser and throws them to Race.

Race catches them, not even questioning why Spot had thrown him his clothes and starting to put them on.

Spot starts tying his shoes.

After a few minutes

Race finished getting ready about three minutes and forty seconds after Spot finished.

Race wore mostly Spot's clothes, the only exceptions being that Race was wearing his own pants and shoes.

Spot had to help him adjust the suspenders so they fit Race.

Then, they left the room.

Spot grabbed the handle to the first bunk room, holding a finger to his lips. "Three," he whispers. "Two, one," he pushes the door open.

"Up!" Spot and Race shout in unison.

"Come on!" Race exclaims, pulling the blanket off of Rumor. "Time to get up and seize the day!" He tells him.

Rumor groans, his eyes closed. "Now, I'm cold." He complains, pulling his shirt closer to him as if to use it as a makeshift blanket to make him warmer.

Spot stands next to Race, smiling sarcastically down at Rumor. "Get up and get moving; it'll warm you up." He tells him.

Rumor groans again.

Race pulls the blanket off of Rags.

Cloth was already trying to help get Rags up.

Spot shakes Ace awake. "Come on! Up! Up!" He shouts.

Hotshot props himself up with his elbows, rubbing his eye. "Aww, couples bonding." He grumbles, half asleep. "How cute." He mutters sarcastically.

Race takes a pillow from Flash's bunk and throws it at Hotshot, successfully making both of them more awake than they had been.

"They even traded necklaces," Spade commented, rolling his eyes.

"You know, if you want to keep commenting on our relationship, you can do it in the ocean," Race commented, smiling sarcastically at them.

Spade rolled his eyes. "I'm getting up," he grumbled, actually getting up. He rolled his eyes again at Race nodding in approval, but smirked when he noticed his blush.

Spot chuckled. Let's go, Brooklynites!" he exclaimed. "Get up!"

A bunch of groans were heard from the Brooklyn Newsies in the room.

Spot and Race ignored their groans as they left the room and moved onto the next room.

My mom: "What if I do sleeping drops?"
Me, who has told her about a million times in the past month that her ears have been hurting her and who knows perfectly well that she will almost definitely wake up if her mom does them in her bad ear: "...sure."
I love my ears lol (sarcasm)
