(D4) Mavis
Mavis is an Ex-British Railways Drewery O4 class 0-6-DM designed and produced under the Modernisation plan of 1955. D2212 was built with the first batch of 14 O4's, being built with 3ft 3 in drive wheels, she would eventually be picked, with 6 of her other siblings, to be fitted with cowcatchers for work at Yarmouth. However, upon the fitting of her cowcatchers, D2212 was brought on trial by the NWR to assist with quarry trains on the Ffarquhar branch. While she didn't initially make a good impression, the Drewery diesel did eventually prove herself, and was officially purchased by the NWR in 1958, carrying the number D4 despite arriving before several other diesels, and wearing her black with wasp stripes with pride. SInce arrival she has always been allocated to Ffaquhar MPD.
