"Today, the heir of Wang group, Wang Yibo, and the daughter of Zhang family, Zhang Jia Li will tie the knot. The ceremony is to be held at one of Wang's 5-star hotels"

"A marriage of the decade"

"Will unite two of the most influential families of the country"

"Most anticipated marriage by the public"

He heard the indistinct chatter of the reporters as he passed through them to get to the venue's entrance. A venue where his love was going to get married. Wearing the most expensive suit his salary could afford, he clutched onto the invitation card for his dear life as he uttered his name – Xiao Zhan to the host and then was led forward by one of the workers who stood in the front, towards the main hall.

He followed along with the worker, passing through many known popular people and getting a side-eye from his love's mother- who was attending to the guest- as if sarcastically telling 'I admire your audacity to be here' Well, he can't deny the looks because he also couldn't believe his own courage to be here, to watch his love be someone else's but he was still here. Ignoring all the fake smiles and vain people to find a place where he can hole up for the next few hours, somewhere - where no one can see his tears if they happened to flow without his consent, till the ceremony is over.

He sat in the corner pondering over his decision of coming here, more like regretting his decision of coming here. But he didn't want to show anyone that he was weak. The same thoughts he got while his lover's mother gave him the invitation card mockingly, thinking that would break him more, well he wasn't someone to be broken easily or so he wanted to prove to the world. Because he was now broken, And who won't be while seeing his 8-year-old relationship falling apart just like that, watching his 8-year-old dreams of the future breaking apart with his small broken heart.

He was still steering through his thoughts when the announcement for the entrance of the groom was made breaking him out of his trance, he watched the groom enter. He was wearing an expected designer black tuxedo but the way he carried himself was nothing but expected, the aura that surrounds him was something he had never seen around the other. He looked majestic and by the looks of it, he himself knew it as well. The calmness with a small smirk adorning his face was different from the childish cheerful side he remembered but he was now come to familiarise with it, he had had to.

The flashes of the camera never stopped since the announcement as they first focussed on the groom then shifted to the beautiful bride that entered clad in her long wedding dress swiping through the floor with a bouquet of beautiful pink and white carnation, a definition of gratitude and pure love- utterly different from what she felt for the person waiting in the altar in front of her- held in one hand and the other hand was wrapped around her father's arm. She looks ethereal, Zhan thinks.

As the bride joins the groom at the altar, everyone takes their seat as the ceremony proceeds, everyone except for one. For he couldn't think about doing anything anymore, except for staring at his love being taken away from him bit by bit. He stood still with eyes glazed, tears threatening to make their way through his cheeks but he held it in at least as long as he could.

For a single tear betrayed his will to keep them in and broke free as soon as his love's eyes fell on him. Call him selfish, for though he was broken but he was glad to see the similar expressions mirrored by his love, to feel that his love didn't feel any better from this marriage than him.

With that glad feeling, he decided to stop torturing himself more, decided to stop making this harder for his love too, decided to walk away. Soon he left his love's longing gaze towards him and started walking away, through the same aisle the bride and groom walked by a moment ago was now occupied by him as he walked to the hall's door and exit this hell hole expecting to move on, expecting to forget, expecting to heal his broken heart a bit, though it seems impossible at the moment but he knows he should start trying now.

Because he has no other way around anymore.

Because that was the moment of changing lives.

Because that was the moment of changing fates

Of not only one but three at once...

For in the next moment he heard his name "XIAO ZHAN" loud and clear reverberating through the hall with his love's voice written all over it making him turn and see the love of his life running back to him leaving behind everything, making everyone shock, himself included.

For it began a love story that was about to end...

For it revived a first love that was about to die.
