Harper

I arrived at the Storm offices at 8:46am, it specified to have natural hair, no makeup and plain clothing.

Smiling at the receptionist I give her my name and she leads me towards a huge white studio, I was overwhelmed by everything. There were cameras and music, people talking and huge lights.

"Samantha your 9am is here,"

From around the corner appeared a slim figure, her black hair perfectly pin straight, lips red as roses. "Hi you must be Harper, I'm Samantha."

"Hi Samantha, nice to meet you."

"Likewise, now you can place your bag and coat over here and I'll introduce you to the team."

. . .

Fully introduced to everyone, the head shots started. I felt really comfortable and David the photographer kept complimenting me, telling me when he liked a certain pose.

Everyone here were really supportive, every so often I was given water and snacks to eat before we started shooting again. It actually gave me a taste for what modelling life must be really like.

By 12, David declared it done and finished, he had taken all the shots he wanted and needed apparently.

Following Samantha she lead me into a room which I guessed was her office. Shutting the door behind me she smiled as she sat on the other side of her desk.

"We're really impressed with your photos Harper,"

I smile. "Thank you,"

"You have a look and a style that would be every photographers dream, we're going to send them to the board who are going to deliberate what they want to do with you, but I also want to know from you what exactly you want to do in the modelling world."

"I'm quite open to try all styles, I'm just a little cautious about nudity, I have a daughter you see and I would hate for her to see naked photos of me."

Samantha nods. "I understand completely. I think you have the face for high fashion definitely, Vogue, Elle, you name it. But you have a small waist and a great figure, you could potentially do catwalk. But you have to understand in high fashion a little bit of flesh is expected,"

I nod. "I just want to be tasteful, keep my dignity."

"Of course," She smiles. "We won't be making you into a Kim Kardashian,"

We both chuckle at her bitchy dig.

"Do you know your measurements? Height, weight, bust?"

I shake my head. "I haven't had them taken in around three years or so." The last time was when I was pregnant with Sienna.

Samantha takes down all of my measurements, I'm apparently 5''8.5 which made Samantha grin as it's the perfect height for catwalk.

Once we were done, my head shots had been printed and placed into a folder with my name on it. Thanking everyone I had met I made my way back to the tube station.

"How did it go?" Harry asks the second I sit across from him in the restaurant I agreed to meet him in for a late lunch.

"Really well," I smile handing him my portfolio folder.

I order as he looks through them.

"These are really beautiful, like breath taking. These could all advertise something,"

I smile. "You like them?"

"Of course, can I have one?"

I raise an eyebrow. "You want one of those?"

He nods. "I want to have it framed."

I roll my eyes. "Lame," He took out his favourite and smiled holding it up, although I thought it was lame that he wanted to frame it, a much bigger piece of me was bursting with happiness by the look of pride on his face.

. . .

After lunch Harry had to head back to rehearsals so I found time to actually get in touch with Edie, we met at Hyde Park, sitting on a bench together with hot drinks.

"So I read you're with Harry Styles now?"

"It's all a bit strange isn't it?" I sip my drink.

"I never had him down as your type." She mumbles wiping her lips with the sleeve of her jacket.

She's right, usually I'd go for the opposite, but there's something about Harry.

"I know, he's more your type,"

She scoffs. "Yeah,"

I frown sipping my drink again. "How have you been?"

"University is shit. And I've missed you, a lot."

"You can always come by Dee,"

"I know," She sighs. "I just.. I feel like we're both so different now,"

I knew what she meant, we've always been different, but that's what made our friendship so interesting but recently, neither one of us have made any effort.

"We're growing into different people I guess,"

"Yeah,"

"I.. I went to a modelling agency this morning," I take my folder out my bag and hand it to her.

"Holy shit Harper, this is Storm models do you know how big of a deal this is?"

I laugh at her enthusiasm. "I do,"

She flicks through the folder. "Damn you're hot,"

"Thanks," I laugh. "Do you think they're good? Like do I look okay?"

"You look phenomenal,"

I sigh.

"Did.. did Harry help you?"

"Help me what?" I suddenly realise what she's implying. "You think I got this because of Harry?" I frown.

"I mean, people are going to think that.."

"No Edie, I got it myself." I take the folder back and place it into my bag standing up.

"Harper I'm sorry-"

"It's fine, I have to go get Sienna anyway, enjoy your day Edie,"

I make my way over towards the tube station my emotions high, I wasn't sure why I was on the verge of tears, I mean, she was my best friend how could she think that of me?

Sitting on the tube I place my headphones in and search for local ballet schools for Sienna and Lux. Lou and I had been discussing getting them into the same school together so they both had a friend in a class.

It was time I focused on things that were important than people who were going to judge me and assume things.

Little did I know, that it was only going to get a whole lot worse.
