Chapter 1: HIGH SCHOOL:
Anything can happen when your inside of High School, especially if you are a 14 year old who has secret super powers. That is what it was like for me. Eleven, it all started when I moved to California. Once my Papa died, Joyce became my guardian as she was the second adult I was most close to. But Joyce was not having it living in Hawkins as she claimed it was a nasty and vile place. A few years back her son- or my step-brother got captured by a strange creature, he was missing for a whole week until Joyce and.. Papa had found him. He almost had died due to the weather circumstances and because the it would try eating him everyday. And I think Joyce's Ex fiancé, Bob Newby also died in Hawkins. He got eaten by a stupid Demo-Dog. But once my Papa died she had a total breakdown, life has been super tough for Joyce, but she is my inspiration for this. Anyways. This summer I had to move away from all of my friends and Mike. Dustin had also just came back, I felt most bad for Will. He would miss the party the most because he was close to everyone. Not just Mike. I knew I'd have to move to another school as well. This, is where everything actually started. Now back to the present.
"El, sweetheart, tomorrows the first day of school! I bought you new clothes already. Do you want to get a haircut?" Joyce told me, I said sure because I didn't want to say no to my new mom. Then she asked me something which I dreaded. "Can you wake William up for me?" I didn't know what to say, but thankfully she said it as a joke. Once Will got ready Joyce drove us to the local mall. It was amazing. But I bought a baggy brown flannel shirt. And we went home. Yeah, I ended up getting a haircut from Joyce. I'm not gonna lie it was kind of cute. I now had short hair with no bangs. I helped Joyce make dinner, it was meatloaf with salad. Then we proceeded to pack my lunch and it was great. I know I'm kind of bogus for saying this but it's like a mother I never had. Me and Joyce put it in the fridge. After that it was lights out. Tomorrow I'll be in Hollywood High. Along with Will and many other people. I wish Mike was there too. But I'll see him on Christmas, I just hope he doesn't break up with me.
"ELEVENNNN, WAKE UPPPP. ITS SCHOOL TIME." Will shouted. It's a bit anticlimactic but I figured this would happen everyday from now so I might as well get used to it. I told Will to shut up and I got ready. Joyce was waiting downstairs and we headed out. Hollywood High was 3 stories tall with many, many lights. I saw a pretty blonde girl with lots of makeup and bright purple clothing, I felt butterflies when I saw her. If Mike was here, would he like her? I walked inside of the building and gasped, there were so many people all fancied up. I couldn't help to smile when I saw a girl with bright orange hair, she had very pale skin and blue eyes. She had a skateboard in her hand and she looked kind of cranky. I felt a strong feeling about her but I couldn't quite get it in the grip on my palm. My first class was AP math. I decided to go up to the girl that I saw a few minutes ago. "Do you know where AP math is?" I said, "Yeah, its 2 hallways up. Don't go upstairs, then take a right and turn diagonal still to your right." I understood nothing but I think she sensed it. She offered to take me to there. We had a little chat. Her name was Maxine but she wanted to be called Max. Preferably Mad Max but Max was fine. I told her my name was El- or Eleven. But then we were there. Apparently it was- Well it was her first class as well. The teacher went on and on but there was one problem. The same blonde girl I saw earlier threw spitballs at me.. and I honestly felt like a clown. Maxine saw and whispered, "Leave El alone, or else." I don't think the blonde girl got the memo. Her water bottle then burst. Gee, I wonder who did that. Then the teacher yelled at her. Her name was Barbra, she then blamed it on me. God, I hate this school already.
