"Kids! Did you grab the last of your stuff?" Lena yelled as she grabbed a backpack and the keys from their kitchen counter.

"Yes momm." Two young voices yelled from down the hallway off the kitchen where their bedrooms were.

"Honey, they will love Midvale. They will have more freedom there then here." A man said as he wrapped his arms around Lena and puts his chin on her shoulder from behind

"James, I know. I just never wanted to move them in the middle of a school year." Lena replies as she holds his hands that are sitting against her belly.

Lena and James did a last once over of their old house to make sure that they got everything because loading their 2 boys into the UHaul to start their trek across the country back to Lena's hometown.

Lena and James got married after a few years of dating, and within the first year they had their first kid, Landon who is now 8. And two years later they had their second son, Jason.

Lena had to make the hard choice to move her family because she just got her dream job at a big tech company just outside of Midvale. She was terrified of moving back because she didn't know what happened after she left with Kara. She doesn't even know it Kara still lived there.

She was hoping Kara moved away so she didn't have to confront the demons of her past.

Midvale

"Kara!" A man's voice hollered from the kitchen with excitement.

"Yes honey?" Kara said with curiosity as she turned the corner.

When Kara turned the corner into the kitchen she saw her 3 kids sitting at the kitchen table with homemade cards help out far towards her and her husband setting up the table with bacon, sausage, toast, pancakes, eggs, and potstickers.

"Oh, you guys!" Kara said as she smiled and laughed.

"Happy Birthday Mom!" The kids said as Kara walked over to them and gave them all big hugs and collected the cards.

She opened the cards and saw the stick figure families and drawings they made.

"I can't believe you guys did this all!" Kara said as she put her hands on her hips and looked at the kitchen table.

"Honey, it's your Birthday! Of course we are going to do something." Her husband said before they kissed.

"Okay but I'm turning 32. It's not that big of a deal." Kara replied as she ate a pancake from the table.

They all sat down and ate the big breakfast that was made before Kara packed up the kids to take them to school.

She married her college boyfriend, Mike and after a year of marriage they brought their first kid into the world.

Kara had 2 boys and a girl. The oldest was an 8 year old boy, Karter. And the boy and girl where 6 year old twins, Michael and Kieran.

Kara pulled up to Midvale Elementary and got out to un-buckle her kids. As she was leant into the car, a UHaul truck passed by behind her.

Lena was staring out the passenger window of their UHaul watching all the parents unload their children from the cars outside of Midvale Elementary, she noticed one woman in particular, but before she could think about it for a moment longer James said, "Boys, this will be your new school! You will be starting tomorrow."

"Why not today?" Jason asked from the backseat.

Lena turned around and said, "becauussee today we are unpacking!" And did a little jazz hands and smiled.

Landon rolled his eyes and replied, "really mom! Jazz hands!"

"Hey, don't you worry. There is enough ice cream to entice you guys." Lena said with a wink before turning back around in her seat.

When the evening rolled around, as promised she took the kids out for ice cream. The house wasn't fully unpacked, but the bedrooms were setup and the boys had some toys and games to play with.

Lena walked down the street as her boys raced on their scooters. Whenever they got too far, they would stop until Lena would catch up.

When they reached the ice cream store, Lena held the door open for her kids and they walked in with Lena following last.

As Kara left the post office, which was right next to the ice cream store, she walked out as soon as the door to the ice cream store closed.

Kara thought about getting some ice cream, but decided against it. Simply because she was already running late to drop Karter off at soccer.

When she got to her vehicle, she raced home to pick up Karter and they raced off to the soccer field.
