1521 A.D. | tenochtitlan

Druig stared down at the destruction of Tenochtitlan, gunshots and screams heard in the background. His attention was brought away from the destruction when Thena and Makkari arrived to the spot in the forest where he, Phastos, Sprite, Sersi, and Ajak stood, where everyone was supposed to meet up.

"Where are the others?" Ajak asked, wondering why just the two of them arrived.

"We had to spilt up." Makkari signed.

"There were more deviants then you said." Thena added.

"I'm sure that was fun for you." Phastos looked at Thena.

"It was." Thena agreed with a grin as Zora flew down, landing on the ground smoothly while she tried to catch her breath.

"That was exhilarating!" Zora panted happily and Thena smirked proudly. "You'll never guess what I did! I slammed a lighting bolt against the ground as I flew down, and boom! Instant dead deviants!"

"Really?" Thena questioned and Zora nodded while Ajak smiled proudly at how powerful the redhead was growing.

"Well, unfortunately Z, we won't get to see it," Phastos spoke up, looking at a small hologram of Earth in his hands. "Because once the others kill these last Deviants, we'll have eliminated them all from Earth."

"Wow," Zora whispered as Druig placed his hands on her shoulders, the girl leaning back into him. "Time flies when you're having fun, right?"

Looking away from the others, Druig couldn't help but stare again at the streams of fire and piles of dead bodies that could be seen from the forest. More gunshots were heard as an army grew closer. He couldn't resist anymore, lifting his arms as his eyes began to glow—

"Don't." Ajak stopped him and Druig glared at her. "We don't interfere in their wars."

"This isn't war," Druig spoke, turning his head back to where the empire once was. "This is genocide."

Zora walked over to Druig, glancing up at him worriedly while he spoke, "Their weapons have gotten too deadly, maybe it wasn't such a good idea helping them advance, Phastos."

"Technology is part of their evolutionary process, Druig," Phastos glared back at the man. "It's not exactly something I can stop."

"No, you can't, but I can." Druig reminded and Zora grew tense. Ajak looked at the girl, giving her a telling look.

"Druig," Zora whispered, looking up at him and holding his hands. Druig couldn't help but look away from Phastos, staring down at Zora while the anger in his eyes melted. "It's okay, alright? Calm down."

He gave her a look and Zora put a small smile on her face, trying to relax him. Druig took a deep breath and nodded.

"It's too late." Thena spoke.

Sersi looked at her curiously, "Thena?"

"Everyone's going to die." Thena whispered and Druig and Zora glanced at each other worriedly.
