A new life

Part 1

Hello everyone and welcome to the rewrite of my story, as I have said before I have chosen to rewrite my story as I did not like it and now have a clear goal for what I want to do. Thank you for reading I hope you enjoy.

Sung Jin woo POV

Earth, a once beautiful planet teeming with life now destroyed by the greed and corruption of the mortals that live here. It was such a beautiful planet, and I did hope that they would realise that what they were doing to the environment was wrong. It's such a shame that they had to destroy their only source of life. If only they had listened than none of them would have had to die so early. I clenched my fists in anger as tears threatened to spill from eyes, I breathed a shaky breath and looked down at the noise and flashing lights happening in traffic. Ever since that day when they died I left South Korea and have been living in what was left of the country side of Japan. But even then they could not stop ravaging the lands and my once beautiful home had turned into a residential district for the rich.

"My master, I propose that we get rid of the humans. They have done nothing to deserve your forgiveness and continue to destroy this world" I turned to the voice of the over enthusiastic ant king, Marshall Beru before looking over at the knight that has served me the longest, Marshall Igrit, and my most powerful shadow, grand Marshall Bellion.

"No Beru, we do not get involved with humanity any more, and besides, they aren't worth the trouble" I said solemnly before turning to face the once blue skies, turned a dark grey due to congestion and pollution.

"My lord, no matter what you do, I, grand marshal bellion, will stay by your side for the rest of eternity"

"As will I my lord"

"And I as well master"

"Thank you, all of you, but this world no longer needs our protection. The rulers have their soldiers stationed close by as a sort of 'thank you' gesture" I said.

"So what shall we do my lord?" Igrit asked

"It is as I have said, we do not need to stay on this world and I haven't been to that many planets in my lifetime because of the war, so I wish to visit different planets" I said with a slight smile before turning away from the edge of the skyscraper and facing the kneeling marshals. My eyes glowed purple as a black and purple portal appeared in front of me as my soldiers returned to my shadows and I walked in the portal, wondering where I would end up...

What is this? Why is it dark? Why can't I wake up? Wait, am I dead? Ha...why am I not surprised, I've made many enemies during my lifetime as king and have survived many assassination attempts. But all things must come to an end at one point, and I knew that one day I wouldn't be able to escape death. At least now I won't have to bother with the court and elders pestering me to get married. I shuddered at the thought of having to one day marry those noble daughters who only lust after my wealth and the title of queen. If only at one point I could've met someone who would love me for myself, and for not being a king. Now then, I wonder if this is the afterlife, I must say it's awfully bleak. No colour, no sounds, no nothing, I wonder what now though, will I be reincarnated or will I have to stay here for the rest of my undead life.

As I was contemplating in my head? I failed to notice the faint white light coming from in front of me until it became blindingly bright as I closed my eyes. "What the hell?" I shouted out loud as the scenery changed. I was coming out of a hole? And was that a hand? Wait, am I being born, oh please make it so I'm not royalty, I hate the thought of being born into that corrupted lifestyle.

"Congratulations, sir and madam. He's a healthy boy!" a cheery voice said as I realised it was probably a doctor or midwife. I opened my eyes and saw many bright lights that blinded me, causing me to wince in pain. I slowly adjusted to the light and looked around, noticing that I am in a cabin or some wooden structure. I was happy to see that I wasn't born royalty.
