Today is the first day of the "Flash 2.0" team and I couldn't be more anxious and nervous. When Barry asked me if I wanted to be part of the team, I accepted without thinking too much about it, however now that the day has arrived, I can't help but wonder if I should really be part of the team.

However my state of anxiety and nervousness is not only because of me, but also because of Barry, as today is also his return to the life of a superhero. Despite all my doubts, I left the house with a smile on my face. When I was putting my things in the car, I got a message from Barry: "What about a coffee before the start of the first day of work? " and sent me the location of a cafe ten minutes from the Asylum, called Jitters.

When I arrived at the agreed place, there he was leaning against the wall with a smile and with his hands in his pockets. But despite his calm appearance, I quickly noticed that there was something bothering him. As soon as we entered the cafe, we sat at one of the tables that were free and ordered two mixed toasts and two coffees.

- Come on, tell me what's going on! - I said looking him in the eye and I saw an expression of confusion on his face. - I know you very well and I know that there is something that is bothering you. And you know I don't rest until you talk to me.

- I'm just nervous about today. You think it's silly? That I am a little scared to go back to my superhero life?

- Of course not. You went through a traumatic period and closed that life under lock and key. It's normal for you to feel nervous about going back, in fact if you didn't feel like that, I was surprised.

- What if I make a mistake and someone gets hurt from a mission? I don't want to go back to asylum.

- That won't happen, because I won't let it. Do you hear me? I'm not going to let you go back to that room or go through it again.

- And how do you feel? Ready? Nervous? Terrified? - Barry asked smiling.

- I don't know if terrified is the right word, but I'm very nervous and a little afraid.

- You don't need to be afraid of this new adventure of ours, because I know you'll come out beautifully. Now I think we'd better finish eating and go to our "base of operations".

After we had eaten the mixed toast and had the coffee, we went to pay what we had consumed and the two of us took my car to the asylum. After parking, we went to the laboratory and inside, we went to floor -1, which is where our base of operations is. There were Cisco and Wells. Wells showed me around and finally showed me my secretary who was in front of Cisco's secretary.

I've never seen a base of operations for a superhero team but let me tell you I'm impressed. State-of-the-art technology, up-to-date system of the city's surveillance cameras, a very well-equipped infirmary, a huge room dedicated to the manufacture of new formulas, a room dedicated to armaments and we also have, on floor -2, the pipeline, which is the prison where the metahumans are.

"What do you think of space?" Wells asked.

- Its amazing. I've seen lots of labs, from the time I worked at my mother's company, but none of them come close to this one.

- Glad you like it. To tell the truth, I already had some homesickness for this place.- Barry said looking around.- Do you want to help me train?

- Seriously? Does that mean I'm finally going to see the Flash suit live?

- Yes!

- So come on, what are we waiting for? - I asked getting up from my chair.

And so the morning was spent between guided visits to the laboratory and training sessions by Barry. I noticed how happy he was to be back and that, in turn, made me happy. At lunch, Barry, Cisco and I went to lunch at Jitters, where we met Joe and Eddie.

- Barry Allen, good eyes see you, friend. - Eddie said giving Barry a tender hug.

- Caitlin this is Eddie, one of my best friends. Eddie this is Caitlin, my...

"So you're the famous Dr. Caitlin Snow." Eddie said smiling.

- Not famous, but yes, it's me.

- It's a pleasure to finally meet you. I've heard a lot about you. - Eddie said smiling and approached Barry's ear. - You hadn't been told me that she is so beautiful.

"Let's go but sit down or we don't even have lunch tomorrow and in no time we have to go back to the CCPD." Joe said smiling and we went to one of the tables that were free.

"Iris isn't coming to eat with us?" Barry asked after sitting down beside me.

- No, she unfortunately had to stay in the office. I think she had to deliver a story by one in the afternoon and was far from finished writing. After we leave here, I'll stop by to bring her something for lunch.- Eddie replied.- So Cailtin, tell us things about yourself. Where do you come from, you live alone, do you have a boyfriend... husband?

- Eddie!- Joe and I exclaimed at the same time, Cisco was just laughing at this situation.

- I was just curious.

- No problem. I come from Memphis, where I used to work at the lab where my mom is the CEO. When I found out about the opening to work at the AMH, I didn't hesitate, I said goodbye, packed my bags and came here. I live alone, I don't have a boyfriend and I'm not married either.

"And were your parents happy with your decision to come here?" Joe asked this time.

- Not really. When I told my mother that I was going to change jobs and cities, she was very apprehensive. She always told me that this change was a mistake and whenever I call her that statement comes up, so I even avoid calling her.

"What about your father?" Joe asked.

- He died when I was little.

"I had no idea, sorry." Joe said looking down a little.

- No problem. He's not with us anymore, but I like to think he supports me in my decisions, even if they're half crazy, like moving to a city I don't know and coming to a job I've never done in my life.

Barry noticed that I was getting quite emotional talking about my dad, so he placed his hand on my back as he made little circles with his fingers. But the one who saved me from this sentimental conversation was the maid who came to take our orders.

This afternoon, similar to the morning, was quite calm as there was no metahuman alert. So what we did during the day was mostly train, as Barry hadn't done it for a long time.
