Iva was ecstatic that the search for a lawyer that was willing to take the case pro-bono wouldn't go to waste. The moment Moira confirmed that she would also testify and press Charges on Javion, Iva rushed back to let him know that they could get the process started. The faster, the better. She wanted Moira to come meet him as soon as she possibly could, get comfortable with him, and start learning the procedure for this thing.

Today, after class, Moira went to meet her up with her mother at home and she would drive to this lawyer's office together to discuss everything getting ready to go down. When arriving, Moira stopped at the bathroom and asked Iva to just go ahead, promising that she could find her way up there. She just needed a second to get her thoughts together and splash some water on her hot face.

When she found the room, after being guided by few men familiar with the building because they worked there, she knocked on the door and opened it up. Much to her surprise, it wasn't just Iva and the lawyer inside. Her aunt, Uaine—Javion's mother—was sitting in the seat next to her sister.

In her eyes were tears. She stood up to go hug Moira who was slowly entering the room. "I'm so sorry, Moira. I didn't know. I swear I didn't." Uaine rubbed her back, sniffling and trying to calm herself down. "I can't believe this..." She had to take another seat, feeling herself grow a little dizzy and nauseous, and she covered her face.

Moira silently took the spot next to her mother, her eyes flicking nervously in between the three others in the room with her.

"I'm losing my son. My only child..." Uaine breathed out. "All 'cuz he wanted ta' be a fuckin' pervert," she spat out. Everyone in the room could clearly see she was very pissed. Moira didn't blame her for being upset about the loss of her son because Jay seemed like a good person at surface level until you dug a little deeper and realized all of the shit he'd done in his life so far.

Javion was a vile person, and it was time for him to answer to all the crimes he committed over the last ten years; ten as far as anybody knew. Moira wouldn't be surprised if he'd done things to other women before he started targeting her.

"It's okay, Uaine," Iva spoke softly, rubbing her sister's back.

"No, the hell it's not," she expressed crossly. "I was sitting here, for years, thinking I raised someone so kind and thoughtful... and he's touchin' and raping people. He's a sick mothafucka', I can't believe this."

Moira watched her aunt uncomfortably. She wasn't even sure why Iva thought to bring Uaine here as this could've gone one of two ways. She wasn't sure she was in a space where she could have these hard discussions in front of Uaine, the person who raised her abuser.

Iva sighed and addressed the lawyer that was sitting across from them, on his side of the desk. "I wanna thank you fa' doin' this fa' free, Ronny. I really appreciate it."

"Of course. I'm always happy to help." He nodded his head, fingers rubbing the fine hairs on his chin. He shifted his attention to Moira, who this was all about. "Moira, my name is Ronny."

She looked over at him and forced a smile. "Nice ta' meet you."

"You, too... I wanna let you know that this process will be far from easy, okay? And I can't guarantee you anything," he relayed to her, his voice far more serious than just seconds prior. Moira nodded in understanding, and he continued on. "It can be hard to get people put away from crimes like these, especially in your case with the long-term abuse."

"I understand. I jus' want him away from me forever." Moira didn't care how she had to do it. She didn't care if an outside force had to step in and put a bullet to his head. Anything to make sure he didn't go anywhere near her. "And that girl deserves justice."
