I've heard that Naruto and Sakura saw their old teammate when they went on their last mission to the Tenchi Bridge. Along with Naruto and Sakura was their captain -Yamato- and Sai, a guy from the village I never knew until now.
I go with my teammates -Hinata, Shino, Kiba and Akamaru- to go to the barbecue place and eat. Not too long after we all start eating, Naruto, Sakura and Sai show up and eat with us. Since it's a round table and the seats are formed to sit in a circle to fit the table, we all sit down close to eat other. From right to left, there's Hinata, Kiba, Shino, me, Sai, Sakura and Naruto. Surprisingly, the table can fit all seven of us without it being too full.
Naruto is talking a lot, like usual. "You recognized Kiba and Hinata right away," Shino said. I softly pat his knee a few times and I say the truth, "Shino, Naruto didn't recognize me one bit after he came back to Konoha. Let's face it, the guy clearly doesn't have that good of a memory." He nods, then Naruto gets mad at me for saying what I said. So I ignore him, and we continue to eat.
I notice that Sai keeps on looking at me every few minutes, then after a while, he finally says, "I'm sorry [Y/N], but I couldn't help but to notice how beautiful your eyes look. You're pretty cute too." I feel my face start to blush. Sakura gets mad and angrily asks, "WHAT!? YOU SAY THAT TO HER?!"
Both of them make my heart skip a few beats. Although, Sakura's words scare me and makes me wonder if she's going to kill me or Sai. Or both of us. I think I would feel uncomfortable all the time if I were on her squad.
We continue eating, but while eating, Sai and I hold hands under the table. Although, I can feel sad emotion from Shino because he is sitting on the other side of me, and he can clearly see Sai and I holding hands. So now it feels awkward between Shino and I.
After we're all done, we each pay our part of the bill, and leave. Sai and I were the last to leave, and I ask, "So, what are you going to be doing tonight?" He answers, "I'm not so sure. I'm usually alone at night. If you want, you can come over to my place and visit for a while." I accept his invitation, and he leads me to his place.
Once we get there, I take a look around his apartment, and there's a lot of paintings on the walls. I take a look at them all, and I ask, "These are nice, did you paint them all?" He nods, "Yes, I like to paint on my free time. Umm, excuse me for a minute, I gotta do my business." He leaves to a room which is most likely his washroom.
I see a small book on his table and I pick it up. Both sides have a cover. On the right opening is a boy who looks exactly like Sai but younger. On the left cover of the book is another boy who has straight gray hair, but looks about two or three years older than the boy on the other side of the cover.
I look inside from the right side and see painting of the same boy on the right side cover fighting the opponent. The page after was the same thing but different opponent. Although, the boy had taken the other opponent's weapons and equipment. I look over that and see its the same until the middle. I read from left to right, and see its the exact same thing but with the other boy. In the middle of the book was the two boys on the cover smiling and holding hands.
I smile as I see they're smiling. I feel two arms wrap around me, and whisper in my ear, "You seem to really take a liking to my paintings." I almost jumped when I felt Sai's arms, but he held me down. I smile and answer, "Yeah, you're really talented." "You know, I don't really like showing this book to anyone. It belongs to my older brother. He died a few years ago. I was going to give it him, but he died before it was finished." Sai said as he held me. I give him the book back, and say, "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I bet he would have loved it if you gave it him. You really are talented." "Thanks. And it's fine, people die every now and then." said Sai really calmly.
Sai grabs my hands and he lets go of me, but our hands are still together. He brings me over to his couch, and he sits down sideways, and lets me lay on him. My head on his chest and my back to his torso area.
We stay like this for a while, and I can't help but to feel comfortable. Finally I turn to face Sai, and I can't help but to give him a kiss. After we kiss, he pulls out a drawing book and starts to draw. He tells me to look away until he's done, so I respect him and go look at his other paintings.
A few minutes pass, and he's painting quite fast. After a few more minutes, Sai tells me to come over and look at his painting. I take a look at it, and I see it's a painting of Sai holding me in his arms while we look at each other. The scenery was trees and from a distance, you can see the Hokage stone faces. Despite the painting being done in less than five minutes, it was beautiful, and very detailed. It seems so perfect.
I immediately turn back towards Sai and give him a kiss. We're in the same position as we are in the picture as we finished our kiss.
