(Merediths pov)
It had beena few weeks since and Mark had finally proposed to lexie I was super happy for them!
I was still feeling super unwell but it only happened in the mornings I was getting tired easy and my feet where swelling after being on them for several hours. Later that day I realised.
"Mer!" Derek shouted as he ran to the bathroom
"I'm okay der" I smiled and leaned back against the wall
"Think you need to get checked out" He said calmly
"No der ill be fine it's probably just the flu
"I don't think so mer" he held his hand out and lifted me up to our bed
"I love you der" she smiled
"I love you too" He smiled back and kissed her.
Soon after we headed to work, Derek drove like normal. When we got into work I rushed off to find Cristina
"Cristina! I've been looking for you everywhere!" Meredith yelled
"Oh hi mer" she turned around
"Here" i pulled her into an on call room and made sure nobody else was in there
"Uhm mer I don't know who you think I am but I'm not doing it with you and definitely not in an on call room" she laughed
"No Cristina" I rolled my eyes
"I think I'm uh pregnant" I told her with a worried look
"Oh my gosh mer that's great news!" She hugged me
"Does Derek know?" She asked releasing from the hug
"I'm not sure if I actually am yet" I smiled
"Mer why did you tell me if you don't know yet I hugged you!" She said sarcastically
"Well I've got all the signs of it" I smirked
"Tell me" she asked wondering to among call bed
"Swollen feet, sickness in the morning, tired after 5 minutes of work, my back is hurting like mad and I'm getting fat" I replied
"Ah probably then" she smiled
"Let's go get your blood drawn" as we wondered off down the hall we ran into Derek
"Hey" He smiled
"Hey" I smiled back, I waved as Cristina grabbed my hand to say we need to go
"Okay okay slow down" I said panting for air
"Baby mc dreamy. You're gonna be the mcdreamys" she laughed.
We got to the pit and drew a curtain round us
"Alright sit down" Cristina demanded
"Gimme your arm" she grabbed my arm and put the needle in
"Okay you know the drill" she said sitting down.
It had been a while and the results were ready.
"So what do you want" she smirked as she read off the paper my face dropped but I smiled
"You're kidding right?" I felt some panic rise
"Mer chill it'll be fine" I snatched the piece of paper out of her hand and the results read positive.
"How am I gonna tell Derek?" I asked
"Just go with the flow" she said
"I've got to go ill catch you later" she shouted running off to answer her pager I sighed and folded the paper up to put in my pocket when someone came up behind me
"What you got there" Derek's voice appeared
"Oh nothing it's some patients results" I said the first thing coming to mind
"Okay, wanna have lunch with me?" He asked
"Yeah sure" I thought it might be a good time to tell him his pager started to go off
"I'll see you later" he said and kissed my cheek before running off.
I had some spare time before my next surgery so decided to go out to town to see if I could find something to tell Derek with, I found a baby shop at the end of the street and decided to look around
"Wow" I said I shock there was so much I didn't know about having a baby. I saw a small clothes section and ran over to see what they had 'I'm mommy and daddy's favourite' the t-shirt read it was grey so I thought it would work I grabbed a hat aswell as I thought hats on babys are adorable and went to pay. I went back to the hospital in time for lunch with Derek, luckily I got into his office before him so it gave me time to put the baby stuff in a bag and hide it so he wouldn't see it.
"Hey mer" he said smiling
"Hi there" I stood up and kissed his cheek
"I got you a burger and fries today cause its Friday" He smirked
"Thank you" I smiled
"So I have something for you" I said whilst taking a bite out of my burger
"Oh yeah? Whats that" he asked
I lifted up the bag and handed it to him
"Oo a fancy bag" He smirked again
"It's what's inside the bag that matters" I rolled my eyes. His jaw dropped and his eyes got glassy he held up the baby grow and the little hat
"We are gonna be mom and dad? I'm gonna be a dad!" He smiled and jumped out of his seat
"I love you so much mer" he smiled and gave me a big hug
"I love you too der" He hugged him back.
It had been 2 months since we found out, I was now 4 months pregnant. It's was morning again and I was being sick again. Definitely my favourite part of the morning.
