"Yeah. Your like the new tiktoks star. People are saying you are like the next Charli." I nodded and chuckled awkwardly. I've never heard anyone say that. "What are you doing at the party? Alone too?" He smirked at me.
I suddenly felt all the nerves in my body rush up and all I could do was laugh uncomfortably. "Uhm I don't know. My friend dragged me here so i'm just... here."
"Oh alright. Hey your single by the way?" He smirked down at me, his hand slowly reaching over mine.
I pulled my hand back playfully and laughed again, it's something I do when i'm nervous. "Uhm yeah but hey look, I really need to use the bathroom so... yeah.." I said walking slowly up the stairs incase he had to say something.
To my luck he let me go and I outwardly cringed at that interaction once I reached the top of the stairs. There was really no one here except a few couples sucking face in the hallway. The music could definitely still be heard but it wasn't as loud.
Since there were only 5 other people in the hallway I went to the door at the end and just sat in the floor, leaning against the wall. I scrolled through my phone while occasionally taking a sip of my drink. I've only taken 3 sips so far but like I said, I didn't like alcohol.
I put my phone down and stare at the wall, maybe I can just keep doing this until Maddy finally decides to leave.
A voice knocks me out of my staring and I swear I almost start crying because I simply can't handle talking to another douch bag again. It's the door beside me opening.
I look up and see none other than Vinnie.
"Hey uhm.." I saw almost cringing at myself. God why cant I just be an extrovert. "Happy birthday." I say politely before pulling my legs up from the middle of the hallway so he could walk by.
"Hey you're y/n. What are you doing in the hallway?" he says scratching the back of his neck.
"Uhm well." I pause for a moment. " I don't really like party's and it seemed quiet here." I simply nodded.
"Oh." He pauses too, leaning against the door frame. "I don't really like party's either I was just seeing how long I could stay in my room until anyone noticed." He smiles at me.
I peek over his shoulder and look at the room but all I see if a computer and desk. "That's your room?" I ask.
"Yeah..." he pauses and an elongated awkward silence falls between us where all you can hear is the music from downstairs. "Wanna come in? We can hate party's together." He genuinely smiles at me.
I ponder the idea for a moment. Of course i'm gonna say yes but I cant see to desperate so I wait a few seconds before responding. "Yeah. That sounds nice." I smile back at him before picking myself up and walking into his room.
It's actually clean which is surprising since most teenage boys don't keep their rooms clean. "You can sit on the bed." I nod before slipping my shoes off and sitting on his bed criss-crossed.
I left my drink in the hallway but I wasn't planning on drinking anymore anyway. "So, this is your party but your in your room. Why?" I cant help but ask.
He shrugs before answering, "I never really liked partys. Thomas threw this for me but I didn't really want it." That makes sense.
"Yeah, Maddy and Jordan dragged me here but I didn't wanna come. I was brainstorming ways to get out of it on the drive here. It was either launch myself out of the car or throw up everywhere but both seemed a bit dramatic." I say which gets a laugh out of Vinnie. I don't know why making him laugh makes me feel so good.
