Injustice is everywhere, and many people are in a position where they can simply brush it off and carry on. However, experiencing injustice too heavy to be ignored is a different challenge all together. We have no choice but to fight because if we didn't the world would leave us behind.
"Lena Luthor, wanted dead or alive" The poster read as I ripped it off the tree.
I will not get left behind and I've dedicated my life to make sure others don't either. Trudging through the remainder of the forsest, I rejoiced as I made it to the foot of the mountain. Slumping down on the stone I opened the letter sent to me a few weeks ago;
Dear Thomas,
I was delighted to hear of your interest.
You'll find us at 35.3575° N, 138.73056° E
Hope too see you soon,
Sir Charles.
Ignore the rest of it and focus on the coordinates. Rebel camps don't just give out the information on pamphlets.
"Almost there" I muttered under my breath as I took a few unsteady steps onto the mountain. As I heard a rustle in the trees, my hand reached towards the dagger secured near my waist. Another rustle, futher away now, and then nothing. I dropped my head into my hands with frustration. Putting away the map I walked away from the mountain.
I knew where my unsubtle visitor was headed, and it meant getting away from here as soon as possible. My fingers tightened on the helm of my ruby bejewelled weapon (Stolen, yes but beautiful none the less). Surveying my surroundings with every step, I made it deep into the trees before I let myself drop down by a tree.
"just a few minutes" were the words circling my head as my body went limp from hours of exertion.
I woke to the sound of horse hooves, dazed by the sudden awakening I rubbed my forehead and sat up slowly.
"shit"
Before me stood a smug princess kara, her golden hair hanging behind her and her helmet in hand.
"My dear ravenette. Don't you learn, I'm relentless, and if I don't rest you shouldn't either. Guards!"
As the guards approached, I shot to my feet and wielded my dagger in hand. I dodged a sword headed to my neck and spun my foot down kicking the guard to the floor with a thud. The second sliced is sword down on my arm and I moved at the last second jabbing the dagger in his neck. As more began to approach I took my chance and fleed through the forest running as fast as my tired legs would let me. Eventually I climbed in a tree and hid amongst its branches.
"Not again!" the blond yelled in frustration below.
"Be at peace, my princess. It wasn't a failure we have her bag. We know where she was headed"
The camp
"we can go back, regroup and head there in the morning"
A few minutes later, when they were far out of ear shot I climbed down from the tree and quickly headed back to the mountain I came from before. Rushing to climb over and up the rocks my clothes snagged on a jacket shard pocking out of the cliff.
