When Jake was fifteen he got his heartbroken for the first time. The girl completely tore his heart out of his chest and threw it into oncoming traffic. His mind wouldn't settle down for months afterward, he became anxious. He began to worry about the little things he did, and if people thought he was weird or not. Because she said he was weird. She said she never even liked him to begin with and that she was just seeing how long she could toy with him.

He's a cryer too. He cries over the little things. Things like human suffering and injustice. But he never had cried that hard before, he could barely see and he thought his chest would cave in on itself. He couldn't think about anything but how stupid and worthless he felt.

Nothing quieted his thoughts.

Not until he came. His next relationship. He was kind and caring. He gave Jake peace. He called him every day and gave him romantic gifts. But soon after Jake told him he loved him, he became rough and pushing to make him do things he didn't want to do. He became violent, hitting and throwing of books and school assignments ensued. He was a smoker despite being only seventeen (almost eighteen and in the grade above Jake), and would burn small circles on the sensitive skin of his boyfriend's abdomen. Jake felt awful, and wished he could go back to his racing thoughts, his mind was so still he couldn't focus on what was good for him anymore.

But the boy soon left after Jake broke down in front of him saying "I didn't do anything to you, why do you always treat me like I did?" and he was alone and crying again. He started to have panic attacks at night. His anxieties about himself were getting too much.

Jake felt lonely for a while. He never really felt lonely before then. But He had distanced himself from his few close friends while he was dating the boy so with this heartbreak he didn't have anyone to hold him. He didn't act the same anymore and he couldn't find it in him to reach out.

Then the third and last relationship came. She was caring, lovely and treated him the way he should have been. They only broke up because Jake felt he didn't deserve it, which he soon realized was not the case. He got better mentally after talking to his parents about his problems and getting therapy and began to know that he had no reason to call it off, but it was too late and he was about to travel the world with two boys that would crash into a tree in his front yard soon anyways. He just wishes he could talk to her, but she's off in America for school now.

He had been graduated and single for a few weeks, still trying to get better, when he stumbled upon a class. He had no idea what he wanted to with his life other than draw, but he felt drawn to the class despite not knowing anything about it. The class helped him. He found calm without anyone else. He found comfort and his head no longer felt so stormy. He felt like he finally didn't need someone to make him happy. He was happy on his own.

The class was for Reiki, a technique that gave the person practicing it the access to the energy around them to heal themselves and others through physical touch, and he was obsessed with it and it became the center of his life. And when he finally completed the class, it was only a week later when Heeseung and Jay showed up at his door. They became the people that he worked on. Heeseung's various problems health got drastically better, and Jay's anxieties and nightmares about what happened to his friend the year before did too. And It was only through his past heartbreaks that he was able to do so. Jake would often help them with this healing technique several times a week, but but he never suspected them to shove him forward to Sunghoon the day after they arrived in Shanghai to work on him as well, saying he needed it with the recent loss of his friend.

But he didn't expect a lot of things.

Whenever he did 'Reiki' he would get small insights on what the person was feeling or going through. It's like their entire soul would open up for him to see exactly where he needed to soothe, mentally physically, or spiritually.
