Again, this story contains mature contents. Well, I won't say minors are not allowed since I read smut at age 14 – who am I to say don't do it lol. I gave you a warning, read at your own risk.

Y/N's POV

"Please, I really need it for my mother's medical treatment" I begged my manager to allow me to loan some money or have some cash advance. I need it, I really do "I'll work over time for free, please I'll do anything."

She sighed and looked at me, "Y/N, I really appreciate the kind of daughter you are – your mom is indeed lucky to have you, but I have none here. You had your cash advance and you have a pending loan! One month salary is not even enough to pay it all."

I looked down, sigh. I guess I really have to give up college, but I'm already on my last year. But it's my mom's life we are talking about too.

"Look, Y/N. I even offered you some kindness and allowed you to sleep here since you were kicked out from your place. Asking for monetary help would be too much." she said again. She's right, she already helped me enough.

I nodded and placed a smile, "I understand. I'm sorry."

I walked away slowly and continued serving the customers their orders.

I work part time in a ramen shop. I'm on my last year of college and two months ago, my mom was confined after fainting. She had a serious heart disease and the doctors told me she might not make it. Thankfully, she's still with me but she's barely there. Her medicines and the equipment she's using to help her breathe is too expensive for a student like me.

She did ask me to let go now, but I can't. I'm not ready. I would give up my college life if that means I could work more and save more. For as long as medicines and machineries could still keep her alive, I would pay for it.

After my shift is over, I cleaned the restaurant and arranged the chairs so I could lie down and sleep. However, I can't. A lot of things has been bugging me. With that, I took my jacket and went out for a walk.

I walked until I reached an open field. I noticed a man sitting while using both of his hands to balance himself. I sat inches away from him and looked up to the stars. They shine so brightly, like they have no problems up here, I wish it goes the same for me.

I didn't notice that I was sobbing already until the man threw his handkerchief at me, what a gentleman. I rolled my eyes and looked at him, he looked back at me with his brow shot up.

"At least be thankful I had some decency to offer you some handkerchief" he said, sounds arrogant to me.

I used it anyway to wipe my tears. He looks rich, should I be his dog and bark for him? I don't know, I'm losing my mind but, "hey, you need a dog? I can bark. Arf!" I randomly said.

He burst out laughing and looked at me, "you high or something? The fuck was that?"
