Chapter 01
"Mom, I thought you already agreed about the bodyguard thing?" I frustratedly combed my hair with my finger and bit my lower lip.
"It's for your own safety, Kaira. We're just worried." Napailing ako sa narinig.
"I can handle myself, mommy. Besides, I stopped being a model, so there's no need for that." I said and walked outside the airport-waiting for a taxi.
My mother sighed from the other line, "Okay, but please call us if you'll change your mind, sweetheart." She said,
I ended the call after saying goodbye to her. A taxi stopped in front of me as the window slid down.
"Saan po ang tungo natin, ma'am?" The driver asked.
"AfriAdes village," I said.
Tumango iyong driver bago ito lumabas sa taxi at ipinasok ang luggage ko sa compartment ng taxi.
Habang nasa biyahe ay nakatingin lang ako sa labas ng bintana.
It's been nine years. I lived here in the Philippines but when I graduated from college, my parents decided to live in Italy. My dad's hometown.
Yun ang sabi sa 'kin ni Mommy. She told me that after a year of working in Italy an accident happened and I got involved in it.
I was in comma for four years and I woke up, paralyzed for two years.
Wala pang isang taon simula ng gumaling ako, that's why my parents don't want me to live here alone without a bodyguard. They're just worried.
My forehead creased when I noticed that the road we're going is far from the highway already.
Madilim na kalsada na ang dinadaanan at walang sasakyan na dumadaan.
"This is not the way to AfriAdes village, Sir." I said with formality just to hide my nervousness.
Damn it.
The driver stopped the car and turn his head to me. Nagmamadali na hinahanap ko ang handle ng pinto para buksan at makalabas pero nang marinig ko ang tunog ng pag-lock no'n ay halos mapaiyak nalang ako sa kaba lalo na nang tanggalin ng driver iyong seatbelt niya.
"Shh...kalma lang, miss. Mabilis lang 'to-"
"Fvck you!" I exclaimed.
Lumipat siya mula sa harapan patungo sa pwesto ko dahilan para mapayakap ako sa sarili ko.
"Help!" My voice croaked when I saw his creepy grin.
The maniac smirked held my elbow. I tilted my head when he tried to kiss me, but a loud horn made him stop.
"Please...someone help me!" I mumbled as I cry.
I couldn't even move to kick the driver away from me. I feel weak.
I flinched when I heard a knock from the outside. Maliwanag ang paligid dahil sa nakakasilaw na ilaw mula sa isa pang sasakyan.
"Kung minamalas ka nga naman." I heard the driver whispered.
Napatili ako nang makarinig ng putok ng baril mula sa labas at alam kong natakot din ang driver dahil doon kaya ay hinila niya ako at ikinulong sa braso niya na nakapulupot sa leeg ko.
"Let me go-Ah!" I yelled when he opened the door after pressing a button in front. He unlocked it.
"Hel-mmm..." He covered my mouth with his hand before pushing me outside. Nasa likuran ko sya at ginawa akong pang harang kung sakali mang may mag paputok ulit ng baril ay hindi siya basta-bastang matatamaan.
