The evening that you died, a weight came down
It crushed my spirit flat as clay.
And like a dagger plunged into my heart,
I knew I'd never be the same.
We watched you getting weaker every day
Despite our care, the cancer would grow.
And though we prayed for healing from above,
We know, sometimes, the answer's "No".
But now you're in Heaven,
Where loved ones wait for you
Walking through the Pearly Gates
In a body made brand new.
Though you're gone, we know you're at peace
You've kept the faith and ran the race.
We know that you are safe from harm,
Living now in Heaven's arms.
