the vaudeville crime

on a rainy monday morning, stellvester decided to wake up earlier than usual so he could prepare early for work too. the atmosphere in his condo was gloomy because of the weather but he didn't mind anyway. the dark has its own way of comforting him.

after he ate the breakfast which he prepared for himself, he did his quick morning workout routine before proceeding to the shower. stell played his usual playlist and started getting ready. it didn't take him too long to shower and slide in his blue uniform and in no time, he was already in his car, on his way to their office.

as he was driving, stell received a call from his partner detective, josh and he answered it straight away, connecting it to the car's speaker so he could talk properly while driving.

"what do you need?" stell said as soon as he clicked the answer button.

"wow, good morning din sa'yo! napakasungit grabe." josh complained on the other side of the line and stell can already imagine his partner rolling his eyes.

stell chuckled. "ano ba kasing kailangan mo? ang aga aga."

he heard josh sigh before speaking, "broken-hearted ako today."

damn, here we go again. stell thought.

"ano nanaman 'yan?"

"so i'm in a coffee shop. then, i saw our police captain. palabas na siya nung nakita ko siya tapos i called him. kaso hindi niya 'ko pinansin! stell, hindi niya 'ko pinansin! tama ba 'yon?!"

stell rolled his eyes before laughing.

"damn, you're soooo dramatic."

"stop laughing at me! nakakahiya kaya. nakatatlong tawag pa 'ko sa pangalan niya tapos hindi naman ako pinansin." josh continued on ranting and stell could swear he could imagine that pout on josh's face.

"'wag ka nang magdrama dyan. baka hindi si paulo 'yun. maybe they just have the same figure. hindi mo naman nakita yung mukha eh."

"siguradong-sigurado ako na siya 'yun, stellvester! hmp, ililibre ko pa naman dapat siya ng kape. pero dahil hindi niya 'ko pinansin, 'wag nalang! ikaw nalang. anong gusto mo?"

stell's eyebrows rose up after hearing josh's question.

"wow, sana pala lagi ka nalang hindi pansinin ng crush mo para ilibre mo naman ako."

"ang sama ng ugali mo!"

"HAHAHAHA joke lang! one strawberry frappuccino, please. thanks, partner!" stell enthusiastically said and ended the call before josh might change his decision of treating him.
