"How bizarre...confessing your feelings when you're the most upset. I have some research to carry out."
I'm out of words. My voice won't let me say anything else, so I just blink at him. He chuckles quietly, shaking his head. Now I'm even more embarrassed.
"And you can't say a word. How peculiar you are, (Y/n)," he says with a tone that makes my stomach flutter.
He makes me sit in a chair near a table, then he takes a seat infront of me. This guy is really testing me here.
"You know, I've always wondered how peoples feelings work," he mumbles, writing on his paper.
Finally I manage to speak. "You talk like you're not human."
His gaze lifts up from his paper and he locks his eyes with mine. After a staring contest, he chuckles and shakes his head.
"You're confusing me," I say.
"You're confusing me," he smiles warmly.
I furrow my eyebrows and let out a sigh. "Just what are you doing? Are you going to ignore what I said?"
"Which part?" Albedo smirks, the sound of scribbling coming from his paper.
"All of it!" I groan. "From when I suggested we go to Liyue and....to when I said you were stubborn."
"You said something else, too," he mutters, a smile still dancing upon his lips.
My cheeks flush and I let out a scoff, my voice going down to a whisper. "Yeah...that I like....you."
Albedo's eyes flutter shut slowly and his cheeks grow a darker pink again. "I feel different, hearing you say that to me."
"Wh...What do you mean?" I ask quietly. Albedo has never been more confusing until now.
"My heart..." he mumbles.
"Your heart..." I repeat.
He opens his eyes so sudden and shakes his head. "No, forget it. I wasn't meant to say that out loud."
"Oh, come on," I huff.
"Apologies, (Y/n). This research will have to continue another time. I must go and see someone this evening," Albedo says, quickly standing up and placing the clip board on the table. Just before he leaves the cave, he turns around and says, "Please travel safely when you head home. Nothing must happen to you."
"Albedo," I call his name as I stand up, but he has already left.
Now I'm alone, with the sound of distant creatures and animals noises, with the empty bottles, with the chilly atmosphere, with Albedo's...clip board?
