"It was that stupid Baka I told you!!! He's at fault here. Not me. I'm not a damn pervert." Sasuke was seething, silently plotting his revenge on the Uzumaki heir the next time he was unfortunate enough to come across his path. Sasuke crossed his arms over his chest while holding the bag of peas to his temple.
"Tell that to the poor woman whom you upset, greatly."
"I tried to explain it to her, but Sakura... she, well she..."
"Didn't want to hear it?" Sasuke nodded his head solemnly and looked at his feet. Itachi's wide smirk softened into a kind grin as he leaned forward. "Why don't you just go and apologize to her?"
"Not until she cools off... a little at least. I don't really feel like getting hit by her again. Besides, I doubt she will listen to me right now... or even believe me for that matter." The teen paused while his mind raced, before a huge huff left him feeling deflated. "Nii-san, can I ask you something?"
"Sure, go ahead."
A small blush rose to his cheeks and he contemplated his next words carefully. "Why are women so... complicated?"
Itachi chuckled deeply. "They aren't, brother. Well not most of them anyways. People tend to make things complicated when they like someone." A long, uncomfortable pause as Itachi leaned across the table to gaze knowingly into his brother's eyes. "Tell me, do you perhaps like this woman?"
Sasuke's features contorted into several different emotions before he tried to settle for a look of complete indifference. "Don't say such things, Itachi. I'm too young to be thinking about that. Anyway, I'm going to go and get cleaned up."
Itachi watched as his brother walked away... knowing full well that Sasuke was just trying to deflect. He just hoped he would be able to make amends with Sakura... before it was too late.
'Maybe I should intervene... but only just a little bit.'
With that thought in mind, he was gone in the blink of an eye and a puff of swirling grey smoke had taken his place.

Sasuke sighed heavily as he made his way to the training grounds; knowing full well that it would be the first time he had seen Sakura since the incident. He was anxious and his palms were sweating, badly, but he attempted to hide the fact by stuffing his hands into his pants pockets.
When he spotted her, Sasuke made his way cautiously to her side and stopped; then... when she looked at him... he smiled back at her sheepishly. "Sakura, I..."
"I'm so sorry, Sasuke-kun," Sakura spoke, interrupting his attempt at an apology. His mouth was still hanging open as he watched her clasp her hands together before a small blush creeped onto her cheeks, dusting her skin with a soft pinkish hue. "I shouldn't have reacted so harshly. I should have listened to you when you tried to explain... instead of hitting you. I was just... well, I... it was a complete surprise and shock to see you... you know... there. I know the truth now. I'm sorry I hurt you."
He swallowed, still stunned. "The... truth?"
"Of course," she said as a soft smile tugged at the corner of her lips. "But... you could have come to me, you know. You didn't have to write it down in a note, Sasuke."
'A note...? The truth? What is she talking about?'
He shifted on his feet as she reached up to tuck a strand of hair behind her ears, the length of which was now down to her shoulders. "Though," she continued, almost shyly. "I do appreciate the flowers you sent me. How did you know that daffodils are my favorite?"
"Oh I... well, I... you know it..."
Seeing that Sasuke was getting extremely flustered, the pinkette chose that moment to lean up (on the tips of her toes) to give him a small peak on the cheek; her plump lips lingering a little longer than truly necessary... and a warm, engulfing heat was left in their wake as she slowly moved away from him to whisper in his ear. "Anyway... thank you again, Sasuke-kun."
Naruto and Kakashi chose that exact moment to interpret the couple, and Sasuke was left with one thought as their training session began.
'What in the hell just happened?'

Itachi, who was hidden in the shadows, smiled softly as he watched his brother interact with the woman with pink hair.
'Sakura... Uchiha? It has a nice ring to it, brother.'
