Fall for August

Medyo magulo ba? Sadya, sorry. HAHAHA jk.
Kidding aside, I wrote Fall for August in Joey's POV and Joey is secretive. Kaya patago lahat, pailalim, hindi totoo minsan. Kaya sa unang mga chapters, her narratives are always omitting details about her feelings for Melo and she constantly tells things she doesn't really mean, i.e. her reactions towards Arlo.
Hindi ko sure kung na-deliver ko ba nang maayos pero hopefully okay naman. Sabi ko pa naman, no pressure sa series na 'to pero na-pressure ko 'yong sarili ko. 🤘😌
Ang ganda kasi ng plano ko rito pero no'ng nasulat ko, medyo nakulangan ako. Parang expectation vs reality sa online shopping. HAHAHA.
Anyway, napansin ko, sa unang part, parang crumbs lahat. Parang random puzzle pieces. Pero sinubukan kong buoin sa pag-throwback nina Joey sa past nila.
Sana okay kayong sumama sa akin sa pag-explore ko sa pagsusulat. Kapit lang, ourpens q. chz. 😆
'Yong gusto ko rito sa story na 'to, 'yong relationship nina Joey at Melo. Chill kasi. Saka ang kumportable nila sa isa't isa. Cliche pero sana entertaining pa rin. Magulo pero sana nabigyang linaw sa huli. (Rhymes yarn?)
Gusto ko rin ang attitude ni Melo. Para kasing chill din s'ya as a person. Tapos charming at the same time.
But despite the flaws, I hope you still liked it!
This story slightly highlighted the difference between the 'ideals' for love and the'real' love.
I also like how Joey is ignoring the stereotypes. Hindi kasi "feminine" si Joey. Unlike the other girls, she likes what boys usually like---basketball, video games, etc. I don't mean it in a way na, "ay dapat ganito ang gusto ng mga babae," "ay dapat, hindi puro makeup, barbie, etc. ang gusto ng girls." But what I mean is, you are more beautiful when you are your true self.
This is what Melo loved about Joey---she doesn't pretend to be someone she's not. Joey does the things she finds joy in and things that she finds comfortable. 'Yon, higit sa lahat, ang nakapukaw ng atensyon ni Melo.
I hope that like Joey, we find confidence in doing the things we are passionate about. Like Joey, let's be the original version of ourselves.
Naglalagay na kasi ng standards ang mundo sa kung ano tayo dapat. Na oo, mabuti ang makinig, itama ang mga mali sa atin kasi hindi naman tayo perpekto. Pero sabi nga nila, lahat ng sobra, masama.
This is why I've always believed that we should be careful of what we take in---mga binabasa, pinapakinggan, kinakasalamuha, at pinanonood. This is because these can influence us a lot. Makakaapekto rin kasi 'yon sa peace and joy natin (na parehas na importante para sa ating mental health.)
Anyway, I wouldn't be publishing the 4th installment of this series yet because I plan on focusing on my other series (specifically Cold War). Siguro, nakuha n'yo na ang pattern ng titles ng series na 'to. May hula ba kayo kung ano ang title ng next installment ng Young Love Series? 🤔
I hope you got something out of Fall for August. Marami pa tayong pwedeng makita sa story na 'to. Sana, nang nakita natin ang mga 'yon, nakatulong 'yon sa atin. Iba't iba ang opinyon ng bawat isa at iba't iba ang perspektibo pero sana ay may napulot tayong lahat kina Joey at August. 💛
