"Can you explain to me what is this?" Victor said in a cold disbelieved tone as he put my report to the side, looking at me straight in the eyes. "Umm..I.." He shook his head cutting me off. "I do not need any excuses, I want a new report by the end of this week. Do you think you can do it?" Victor said without a hint of warmth in his words.

I nodded and mumbled. "I will." and made my way to the door. I didn't even wait for him to say anything else. I didn't want to hear it, I knew the report I gave him wasn't as polished as I would like but I never thought he would be that angry.

After closing the door I felt my eyes sting a little. Of course, it wasn't the first time that hearing Victor like this, I've seen it countless times but this time was different. Perhaps it was because I was sensitive today that it hurt me more.

I have to be sure to do a good report this time.

With a heavy heart, I left LFG to go home to start working on my report.

****

Once home I took a quick shower and started working right away. Going through my old report so I don't make the same mistakes again. I know I still had a good couple of days before the deadline but I wanted to show Victor that I could pass his expectations with flying colors.

I was working diligently when I heard my doorbell ring. Confused I looked at the time and it was already nine.

"Who could it be at this hour?" I whispered to myself as I went to check who it was through the peephole. Seen who it was I opened the door slowly as I peeked through the door. "Victor?"

He was standing outside my door with grocery bags in both of his hands. "Are you going to let me in?" And I quickly opened the door making space for him to come inside. He went in without another word and went straight to the kitchen.

"I hope you don't mind me using your kitchen." I shook my head. "Not at all, use whatever you want." He nodded and started working right away. I offered if he needed help but he turned me down saying he could handle it. With nothing else to do, I went back to my desk to continue working on my report.

As time passed the aroma of delicious food engulfed the whole room that I couldn't concentrate on the report anymore. I decided to take a break and go to my sofa instead and took a sit. I saw my phone on the side table, I had forgotten about it completely.

Huh... what is this?

I saw three missed calls and a few notifications from Victor.

Victor: "What are you doing right now?"

Victor: "Are you busy?"

After seeing the messages I couldn't help but look at Victor at this moment. Seen him cooking in my kitchen makes me wondered if he felt guilty about what happened earlier and got worried that I was giving him the cold shoulder.

Well, at least I'm going to eat some delicious food.

I put the phone to the side table again and lay down on the sofa closing my eyes. Hearing Victor using kitchen utensils, the simmering from the stove, the smells, was like a perfect ASMR moment making me sleepy.

"Hey wake up, otherwise the food will get cold." I heard Victor whisper in my ear as I felt him gently shaking my shoulder. I stretched as I slowly sat up on the couch. I saw that the table was already set and I couldn't help but smile.

I quickly went to take a sit and saw a delicious stew waiting for me. The warmth radiated I wanted to already start digging in. I looked at Victor and he nodded. Smiling I grabbed the spoon and dipped it in gently. Seen the finely chopped vegetables and soft beef waiting for me to devour it.

Taking the spoon I gently put it in my mouth and the delicious flavors hit my tongue all at once. "Mmm... Victor, this is delicious!" I heard him chuckle. "Don't worry there's more from where that came from."

Delighted with his words I continued eating. "So... where you busy before I arrived?" Victor asked. He must be asking because I didn't reply to any of his calls or messages. "I left my phone on the side table and didn't notice your missing calls or messages. I'm sorry for making you worry..."

Victor shook his head. "It's alright, as long as your alright that's all it matters." I nodded and took my last spoonful to my mouth and put the spoon aside. I got up and started picking up the empty dishes including Victors.

Victor was about to stand up but I stopped him before he could."Leave the dishes to me! It's the least I can do after you made me some delicious stew." Victor seemed to want to say something but after a few seconds, he nodded. "Fine." And he left to the living room. Watching him leave I turned to the kitchen getting ready to wash all the dirty dishes before I could relax.

When I was finally done I turned to look at what Victor was doing but he wasn't on the sofa. Confused I went looking for him and caught him reading my report.

I couldn't help but fidget, I didn't want to hear him say that It was still not good enough. Victor must have felt my presence because he turned and folded his arms. "You're doing a good job. I just left you some notes on where you need to improve."

I nodded and said "Thank you, Victor. I promise I will be sure to give you a really good report this time." He nodded and he opened his mouth to say something but closed it right away. I looked at him puzzled but he sighed.

"I apologize for earlier today. My words were too harsh." He said as he looked away not willing to make eye contact with me. Seen this side of Victor isn't something anyone can see but me. Only I get to see it and no one else.

I got close to Victor and put my hands to his cheeks and made him look at me. "It's fine Victor. I can't deny you were just..a little harsh. But that's something that I already expect from you." He frowned and I quickly continued. "But I was too sensitive at that moment and honestly... I should have done better in the report."

Victor looked straight at me and I smiled, assuring him that everything was okay. He gave me a gentle smile before he squizzed my nose with his fingers.

"Do you have space for dessert?" My eyes went wide and I quickly nodded. "Of course! They will always be space for dessert in this belly!" I said as I patted my stomach.

Victor shook his head but I still caught a glimpse of his smile. I followed him to the kitchen as saw him take something out of the oven. Taking a peek from behind Victor I saw several delicious sweet-looking puddings waiting to be eaten.

Helping Victor grab the spoons and some napkins as we waited for the puddings to cool down. We decided to wait on the sofa, sitting together side by side. Time seemed to go slow but at this moment it didn't matter. Resting my head against Victor's shoulder was relaxing.

I know Victor could be cold-hearted at times, and says things without caring if it'll hurt the other person. Because the things he says are nothing but the truth though at times his to harsh about it. But he does it so people can become better, but they tend to get offended by it most of the time. But no matter how Victor is, I love and accept everything about him.
