Gavin ~Red String Of Fate~

I was laying in bed with my laptop watching random videos when this title caught my attention. "The Red String Of Fate" Curious to know more I didn't think it twice and clicked on it.

The red string of Fate or also known as the red thread is known by the Japanese culture that fate or destiny brings two people with each other by the red string of fate. The red string is connected to your little finger and the end of that string connects you to your destined one. No matter how far they are from one another... or how different their lives are. They will always find their way to one another. Even if the string gets tangled or stretched, it will never break. The day that they finally meet, they will know they were destined to one another when their encounter affects both of them. In China, the red string is believed to be on the ankles instead of the little finger. Even if you think you are alone, know that... someone is waiting for you at the other end of the string.

After finishing off the video I couldn't help but look at my little finger. When I think about the person that's on the other side of my red string of fate, Gavin comes to mind. Gavin... I wonder what he'll think of the red string of fate. Would he think it's childish to believe such things? Childish or not, I enjoyed things like this. Whether it's true or not, I want to believe in it.

I sat up on my bed and reached for my cellphone. I wanted to send a quick message to Gavin. But looking at the time, it was 15 minutes before it hit midnight.

Yeah... I shouldn't bother Gavin at this time...

I sighed and closed my laptop to put it on the small table next to my bed before laying back down. I turned to the side and grabbed my phone once more. I clicked on my gallery and looked at all the pictures I had taken of Gavin. I couldn't help but smile as I looked at each one of them. It's hard to believe that we once went to the same high school together.

Though the video said that the day the two people will meet, the meeting will affect one another. Well, that wasn't a lie for sure... maybe at that time, I didn't know the real Gavin. I thought of him more as an... delinquent. Always getting into fights and never following the rules. But funny how destiny is by bringing us together once more. So watching the video about the red string of fate, how could I not believe it?

Maybe the first time didn't go well but our second meeting did. I was so surprised when I learned that he had become an officer. And after that, little by little we became inseparable. He was always there with me when I needed him the most. He became someone that I couldn't be apart from. Someone that I need to feel complete...as cliche as it may sound.

I looked at the picture that I took of Gavin in his uniform and I couldn't help but smile.

He looks so handsome in it... good thing he doesn't wear it often or else a lot of girls would be trying to flirt with him...

My heart throbbed a little... I wanted to hear his voice but I knew that I shouldn't be selfish at this time. Then my mind wandered back to our Valentine Date...that day was a little intense. His hot kisses.. his mischievous smile, It was imprinted in my heart. My mind filled with Gavin at this moment, I heard a knock coming from the door of my balcony. My heart quenched by the sound and I squeezed my phone tightly in my hand.

Then at that moment, I got a message and I quickly checked my phone.

Gavin: "I'm outside your balcony."

After reading the text I quickly put it to the side and climbed off the bed and went to my balcony. I slid my curtains to the side and the amber eyes I have missed, stared straight into mine. I opened the door and I didn't wait for him to come inside, instead, I embraced him tightly and buried my face to his chest.

Gavin not expecting my sudden embrace, took a few seconds before he wrapped his arms around me. "Something wrong? Are you okay?" I heard Gavin ask in a worried tone. I shook my head and hugged him tighter. "Everything okay, I'm just happy to see you." He didn't say anything right away but without seen his face I was sure that he was blushing. "I'm happy to see you too.. honestly... I had to come and see you because lately... I have missed you..."

I wanted to pull away to see his face, but Gavin knew what I was up to and hugged me even tighter against him. This man... is so cute when he gets embarrassed. After a while, Gavin let go of me and I couldn't help but look at him. He quickly looked away, not making eye contact with me as he passed by me to go inside my house.

I went inside as well, closing the door behind me. He went to take a sit on the couch and looked at me. I couldn't help but smile at him."Do you want something to drink? Or something to eat?" He shook his head. "The only thing I want at this moment is to spend time with you."

I felt my cheeks go warm but I couldn't hold back the smile that was already forming on my lips. I went to take a seat next to him and grabbed his hand. He pulled my hand and gently placed a kiss on top of it. I rested my head on his shoulder and looked down at our hands intertwined. The video from earlier came to mind and I couldn't help but ask Gavin if he had heard of it.

"The red string of fate?" What's that?" Gavin asked and I explained it to him. After I finished explaining he didn't say anything. As if he was deep in thought, I didn't want to interrupt his thoughts so I didn't say anything. He picked up our hands that were intertwined and pressed his lips against my little finger.

"Whether that is true or not.. all I could say is. That it was destiny that brought us together once more. Maybe it was the red string of fate that tied our destiny together. But know for a fact... I won't ever let you go. Not now or ever. Don't ever forget that."

Hearing those words made my heart filled with so much warmth that it seemed to overflow. I grabbed his hand and softly kissed his little finger as well. "And know that I won't ever leave your side. No matter what happens in the future, I will always be by your side." He smiled and looked into my eyes. He slowly got closer and closer to me until our lips meet.

The gentleness of his kiss, combined with the words we just shared. As if sealing those words into an unspoken promise that we won't ever leave each other's side. No matter what life throws at us, we will both overcome anything.
