Someone had killed Scott like he never mattered.
"Peter...?" Toast asked. Peter let out a shaky breath.
"I found him in the vitals room, dead. There was no way to save him," Peter whispered.
Steve noticed Fundy shifted a little, clearly thinking and blaming himself for something.
"Poor Koji," Fundy whispered. Tubbo rubbed his back.
"But who would've killed sweet Scott?"
DK gripped Steve's hand under the table, clearly upset by Scott's death.
"Wait, that's not possible. I just left him!" A voice called out. They all looked over to 5up and Hafu frowned
"So you were the last one to see him alive?" Hafu asked, 5up realized what was happening and his eyes widened
"Wait, you don't seriously think I killed him do you? Am I stupid enough to just admit to being so close to him?" 5up snapped, clearly upset.
"Where did you leave him?" Steve asked, curious to see what response he would get
"Ok, me and Smajor went down to speci together only a few minutes before. I left to go scan at medbay-"
"So you left him in specimen. Who else has seen Scott after we landed?" Kimi asked, DK spoke up
"We saw him nearly right after. Me and Steve that is. We left the dropship together and then we did gas," DK said, gripping tightly to Steve's gloved hand. Steve squeezed his had back gently to calm the man down
"Ok, did anyone see him in vitals?" Apollo asked, scanning the room for guilty faces.
"I left him in Vitals," Koji said, an upset expression on his face. Everyone murmured something and Kojis eyes widened. "Wait no-!" He said, realizing what people thought
"Koji, you just said that you saw him last," Ellum said and looked at his friend in disgust. Koji stared at Ellum in pain, clearly upset that he wasn't trusted.
"Wait, no. Steve, I would never kill someone like that. Besides, why would I say that if I killed him?" Kojis face gave away all of his emotions, his eyes showing innocence and truth.
"Mmm, I don't know Koji. That's a little sus," DK said. Steve wiped his face clear of emotion, trying to figure out who would've killed Scott.
Koji had fear on his face as nobody listened to him, Steve studied him. Looking for his friends tell. DK nudged him and the tall man nodded, knowing it couldn't have been Koji
"I believe him. Koji can be stupid, but hes not that stupid,"
"Steve, are you sure?" Apollo asked. Steve nodded
"Thanks,"
"Aww, anything for my best friend," Steve said with a smirk. Silence came over the table.
"So now what? What do we do with Scotts body?" Janet asked
"Go ahead and vote. We can do what the votes say," Karl said. Everyone cast their votes and watched as they were counted.
7 for Koji
And 7 for skip
The meeting ended and everyone headed to the lava pit. Peter walked out on the small bridge and looked down. Toast followed him and placed a hand gently on his back.
Peter waited until Toast was off the bridge before dumping their coral friend into the lava pit.
Toast placed the floatie on the meeting room table and made a signal
"Split up and get your tasks done," he ordered before he left
