Translator's note:

I contacted Shirowan after reading “Licor.” I started reading “Inefable.” I fell in love with the story and the writing. I wanted to attempt translating the one–shot to give it a broader spread.

It is not a professional translation, but it oozes enthusiasm and respect. I appreciate that Shirowan allowed me to try this.

I did my best, and I hope you all like it. Thanks!

– We sincerely thank the Jiang sect for delivering us from that evil spirit. We, the people of Yunping, will make sure to show proper gratitude.

The elder lowered his head, full of thankfulness, to the cultivators in front of him. However, he gripped his cane as a sign of his nervousness.

A few days back, Yunping suffered from walking corpses’ sightings. In the beginning, there were just rumors, but then people began to be uncomfortable when a young lady got hurt when attacked. Because of this incident, the Yuping council of elders had requested the Yumeng Jiang’s sect’s help.

Despite how relieved he felt because – since the cultivators came earlier this morning – they had found and destroyed two walking corpses, the rumors about the Yumeng Jiang Leader were too widespread in Yunping so that the elder felt in danger just to speak to him.

But of course, he wouldn’t let that attitude sully the gratitude he felt. He looked at the cultivator and nodded, saying with a cheerful voice.

– If you wish, you can all stay here for New Year’s Eve. Clouds are swirling fast in the sky. There may be a stormy night.

Jiang Cheng had looked at the sky, and he had noticed the same thing. He knew the Yumeng’s weather better than the back of his hand. It was very likely that it rained hard early in the morning.
