Alice always loved looking up at the stars, finding comfort in them but it also made her wonder. Someone, years ago, saw a bunch of stars and made them into constellations to give them some sort of meaning. They had made something beautiful out of nothing and it made her question why. How lonely must have that person be to try and find meaning in something so far away? How alone must have they felt to have to reach out into the universe far beyond them for comfort? Alice had found that people who love to stargaze all are trying to escape from something in their life and that was exactly what she was trying to do at this moment.

"So, what, this is you? A stoner? Is that it?"

"Yep, this is me," Alice said, placing the blunt between her lips as she turned to Maeve. The younger girl looked disgusted and slightly angry and Alice didn't blame her. She would be too if she was in Maeve's position. "You still wanna try exploring your feelings and shit? 'Cause I don't think I'm the right person to help you with that."

"I don't like this version of you but―"

"This is me, Maeve," Alice said as she lowered the blunt, smoke leaving her mouth. She turned away from Maeve so it wouldn't hit her face, she wasn't that rude. "Not some version of me, this is me and it's always gonna be me so I'll ask again. You still wanna explore your feelings or not?"

Alice turned to Maeve when the younger girl called her and was met with lips on hers. Alice swore her heart stopped for a few moments, only continuing when Maeve's hands were on her cheeks and her lips moved against Alice's, goosebumps travelling down her arms. Alice's eyes closed as she kissed back, hands resting on Maeve's hips when she got out of her seat to be closer to Alice. The younger girl tasted faintly of cigarettes and Alice loved it.

Alice was also worried that this was a new sort of high that she could get addicted to. Because that spike of adrenaline she felt? That buzz that she feels and the way her mind goes silent for a few seconds? That was what Alice got addicted to in the first place. And it was exactly what she was feeling when Maeve kissed her.

"That answer your question?" Maeve asked once the kiss broke and the older girl opened her eyes. Even in the dark, Alice could clearly see her. Alice hummed, a faint smile playing on her lips.

"You know, there is something called consent," Alice mumbled and Maeve rolled her eyes, her hands moving to grip onto the arms of the chair as she pulled herself up, hovering over Alice who was still sitting.

"You didn't seem to mind," Maeve countered and Alice nodded slightly, the blunt long forgotten as she pulled herself up, lips brushing against Maeve's.

"Yeah, guess not." And so, Alice kissed her again and she felt that familiar rush of adrenaline running through her body, her heart rate slowing for a few seconds before speeding up, her mind completely blank when Maeve kissed back.

Yeah, Alice would definitely get addicted to this.
