IT WAS HARD. Trying to refrain from alcohol, it was hard. Maybe Alice was slightly more addicted than she had liked to admit but at least she had managed to abstain from drinking for a week now. It was a challenging week but it was still seven days she was sober and she was proud of that, even if her life and mental health were crumbling.
Johnny and Stella were the only reasons she managed to stay sober this long. Whenever the temptation crept in, she would call either one of them and talk about nothing in particular until she fell asleep.
She really wouldn't have been able to do it without them.
Alice was in the common room with the two, laying across the couch with her legs across Stella's lap and her head in Johnny's lap as he sat on the armrest, him putting small braids in her hair. Alice had tried to stop him many times in the past before but he never listened so she gave up on asking and let him do as he pleased.
"Are you gonna come to Maria's after school?" Johnny asked the two, his voice quiet to not disturb anyone in the common room. Stella shook her head, saying she had a date but refused to tell the two who it was with much to Johnny's annoyance. Alice really couldn't care less, as bad as that sounds, since Stella's dates always ended the same way; horribly.
