Ch. 30 "Truth"

                                                        Jax POV

The look on Tasha's face I didn't recognize it, it was a mix between relived and extremely pissed off, 

"Tasha I-" I began 

But someone busted into the room, 

"Ah so the brave lives," Tony said walking in with a tablet in his hands, 

"Peter told me what you did," He said looking at my vitals as he tapped on the tablet screen, 

"That was a very brave thing you did," Tony said 

"It was the thing to do," I mumbled 

He nodded, 

He peeled back some of the gauze, looking at the burns, 

He scrunched his face, 

"Yeah, these are going to need to heal, your going to be stuck in here for a while," He said 

I nodded, 

"Get some rest let us know if your in any kind of pain," He said 

I nodded, 

With that he left, 

I see Tasha, she looked as if she was ready to spontaneously combust, 

But then I was thinking about the fire, who I saw, it was her one of Madam B's dogs, 

My eyebrows scrunched, 

I think her name was Samantha, 

Such a tool, Madam's little lackey if she wasn't any further up Madam's ass she would be peeking out of Madam's mouth as she talked, 

"Jax," Tasha said 

I looked at her, 

"What were you thinking?" She said clearly upset, 

Here we go, I thought 

"I thought I would save someone's life," I said crossing my arms but sort of hurt to so I laid them flat on the bed, which also hurt, 

"At what cost and since when do you care?" She said 

"To save a life and I have you know I do happen to save lives I'm not heartless," I mumbled 

"Yeah well you nearly got yourself killed do you have any idea how much glass we had to pull out of you?" She said standing up, 

"We?" I said 

"We," I hear another voice 

I see Steve, Bucky and Bruce walk in, 

"Have to admit didn't think you had the stomach for that Steve," I said 

"This isn't a joke Jax you almost died," Tasha said 

"Now your just being dramatic," I said 

"No I'm not," She said crossing her arms, 

"I mean look at you, burns and cut up, you look like you got in a fight with a lawnmower," Tasha said as she paced back and forth, 

"Haven't seen you this worked up since Canada," I mumbled 

The others looked at her, 

She held her hand out stopping them then shaking her head like she's telling them later, 

"Jax she's serious," Bucky said 

"So you guys keep reminding me," I mumbled 

"If it makes you feel better I won't do nothing so reckless," I mumbled 

"You sure about that?" Steve said crossing his arms, 

"Yes," I said dully, 

Steve, Bucky and Bruce nodded walking out, 

I scrunched my eyebrows again, 

I feel Tasha sit on the edge of the bed, 

"What is it?" She said 

I looked at her, 

"I know that look Jax, I remember it well," She said 

I sighed, 

"I saw something that night," I said 

"The night of the fire," I said 

"What?" She said concerned, 

"Someone... I kinda knew," I said 

"Someone I despised," I said 

"She was there Tasha, I think she started the fire to lure me in there," I said 

"Who?" She said 

"One of Madam's dogs Samantha..." I said 

I glared at Tasha, 

"She was there, I could have had her right there, I could have found out everything I wanted to know, I could have killed her and tracked down the red room, but I didn't," I said seething 

"I chose to save that little girl," I said angry at myself for second guessing myself it should have been a no brainer 

I mean save the little girl right? 

But she was right there,

"Don't do that to yourself Jax" Tasha said 

She placed her hand gently on top of mine, 

"I get it Jax, but this road your on, will only lead you to more heartache and darkness, I know I've been there," She said 

"I just feel like I lost, I could have had everything I was looking for," I said 

"Jax listen to me no matter how pissed I am about what you did, you made the right decision, and I'm proud of you for that," She said smiling at me, 

I smiled small, 

I chuckled a little, 

"Don't tell me your getting soft on me Tasha," I said 

She chuckled

"Despite everything that's happened between the two of us, I do care about you Jax, more than you know," She said 

"And despite of how hostile I am towards you I care about you to Tasha, I was just hurt and looking for someone to take that hurt out on," I said 

I looked at her she was smiling, 

"And if you ever tell anyone I said that I'll kill you myself," I said 

She chuckled, 

We hear a knock, 

It was Clint and Bucky, 

"We brought food and drinks, 

"Good because believe it or not I'm starving," I said 

Everyone chuckled,
