Day 1
My name is Bethany Queen. I am a 19 year old college student, getting my degree in education. I want to be a teacher. Well, I wanted to be a teacher, but now I'm not sure anymore. Why you may ask? Well, I am currently floating in the middle of the ocean. Last thing I remember was a lightening storm and a bolt hitting the boat. I woke up floating on a piece of the boat, but I found an inflatable raft in all the debris. So currently I am floating in the ocean on a small yellow inflatable raft. I am cold, thirsty, hungry, and wet. All that's in the raft with me is some loose cans, a pair of brown pants, some loose boards from the boat, a water-soaked notebook, a few pencils and some dirty rope. I don't know where I am or how long I will be out here but, I'm going to be okay.

Day 4
Hey again. A lot has happened in the past 4 days. I figured out how to open the cans and get myself fresh water. Using nails that were left in the loose boards, I was able to open a can of peaches, they were delicious. They were so sweet and juicy. I can't remember last time I had peaches, but these were the best peaches I've ever had. Sorry, I got off tract. I told you how I opened the cans but how I'm getting fresh water is a little more complicated to explain. Using those brown pants I collected, I tied the pants legs closed and fill the pants up with salt water. Thanks to condensation, freshwater drips into the empty can of peaches and then boom, freshwater. I only have around 6 cans left. I should probably start conserving the food I have. I wonder if there is some way for me to catch the fish that swim bellow. I will keep you updated on if I figure that out. I still got this grimy rope that I can use. This rope is honestly disgusting, its slimy from being on the boat for so long. It's almost too gross to touch, almost.

Day 7
I can't believe it's been an entire week since the shipwreck. It is so hot during the day that I think my sunburn has sunburns. Its hard to resist the urge to peel off my peeling skin or mess with my blisters. My arms are tired from holding a board above my head to shield me. The day may be hard due to the sun and feeling dehydrated, it is better than the night. At night its bone chilling cold. I can't get freshwater at night, so I've been using my empty cans to store extra water but with the amount a drink I run out so quickly. I have 3 cans that I use every day. I've noticed the pants, also known as my water source, are not looking as good as they used to. I must give it breaks to fully dry before using it again. If these pants break, I'm not sure how I will get water. It scares me. On a more positive note. I figured out how to make a fishing hook out of one of the nails. I turned the lids of the cans into a knife that I've been using the past few days to shape the nail into looking like a hook and sharpening it. I've tied the hook onto the rope and currently trying to figure out if fish will like pineapple, peaches, or tomatoes. I might just use my only can of sardines for fishing but without a weight I feel it would be a waste on the smaller fish that are near the surface. I'm not sure since I've never fished before. I'm trying to do this based of memory. My grandpa used to talk about fishing all the time when I visited him out of state. His eyes lit up when he talked about fishing, it was hard to not listen when he gets like that. I miss my family.

Day 8
I am victorious at fishing. I know it's only been a day but today I caught my very first fish. I think its like a herring or something. It was boney but good. I'm starting to miss my family. I miss the way my dad yelled at the tv as if the characters in the movie or tv show could hear him. I miss how my mom would exaggerate things to make me feel better. I even miss my annoying litter brother and his non-stop pranks. I never thought I would miss those pranks. I remember one time; my brother tied my car keys to some balloons and got the balloons stuck in a tree, so I had to climb up and get it so I could drive to my dumb job. I want to go home. I've seen no signs of possible rescue. I need to keep my spirit up. I can't give up yet.
