Lorelai walks into the front room to find her daughters making a bed on the couch for their father who randomly showed up to sleep on.

"He looks good, don't you think?" Rory asks. "He looks good" Lorelai agrees.

"I like his hair shorter" Rory says. "Shooters nice" Lorelai agrees. "Do you think he'll stay long?" Victoria asks her mother.

"Wouldn't bet a lot of money on it" Lorelai answers honestly.

"Maybe we could get him to stay for a couple weeks" Rory says. "Absolutely by weighting him down with blankets" Lorelai says as Victoria puts a dozen blankets on the couch.

"I just want him to be comfortable" Victoria replies. "He's gonna come and go as he please babe, you know that" Lorelai tells her. "Yeah, we know" Victoria responds.

"And no amount of bedding is gonna change that" Lorelai says.

"Yeah but he's never been to Stars Hollow before" Rory points out. "I know" Lorelai says.

"Well that means somethings gotta be different right?" Rory asks. "Why don't you just enjoy the time you've got, okay?" Lorelai suggests. "Yeah, okay" Victoria says.

"I still think somethings different though" Rory tells them.

"That is the worst shower I've ever had, water pressure keeps changing every two seconds. I'm fixing it tomorrow" their dad says walking down the stairs. "Hey you stay away from my shower" Lorelai says.

"We ordered Chinese food, it should be here any minute" Victoria tells her dad. "Good, I'm starving" he responds. "Here" Lorelai says handing him a drink.

"Hey, how's Diane?" Rory asks.

"Uh Diane is ancient history" he dad tells her. "When I met her at Easter you said she could be the one" Victoria reminds him.

"The one to be gone by memorial day" her dad says. "You're worse than mom" Rory comments. "Low blow" Lorelai responds.

"Can't keep a feller happy?" the twins father asks.

"Oh I keep them happy, I keep them very happy" Lorelai tells him. "Okay now, don't get gross" Victoria says.

"Yeah, you're upsetting us" he dad comments. "I'm gonna go study before the food gets here" Rory tells her parents. "What? Tomorrow's Saturday" their dad reminds them.

"I know, I like to get our weekend homework done by Saturday night so I can do extra credit stuff on Sunday" Rory says going to her room.

"Well I'm not that obsessed with school but I do have a project I have to work on so call me down when the foods here" Victoria says going up to her room.

"They're great kids Lor, I wish I could say I saw more of myself in them other than Rory and I have similar left earlobes but they're all you. Chip off the old perfect block" Christopher says after his daughters leave the room. "Why the hell are you here?" Lorelai asks him. "Behold the queen of the subtle transition" Christopher jokes.

"Why are you here?" Lorelai asks again.

"You're gonna force me to lawyer up officer" Christopher keeps joking. "Christopher" Lorelai says.

"Okay, look I've been making some changes. Especially in my career, and I think I've finally got all my ducks lined up in a row" Chris tells her. "You're opening a shooting gallery" Lorelai guesses. "I've been tying up the loose ends of my life" Chris says.

"Do they make that much string?" Lorelai asks.

"You know you're always had that verbal thing with your quick mind, it's annoying" Chris says. "So you've been tying up loose ends..." Lorelai signals him to continue.
