GIYUU COULDN'T DO ANYTHING MORE than run, and he fucking hated it. He hated that he felt nothing at all, numbing shock running like ice through his veins, stabbing through his skin even in the painful apathy. He hated that he was running, that-

He almost stumbled, catching himself just before the blade of his own weapon impaled him. Giyuu felt a sick desire to laugh at the irony, all of his morals and humanity torn away by the gaping emptiness in him destroying his very self from the inside out.

"Giyuu! Giyuu!"

He stumbled to a stop, turning his head almost woodenly to find the seven other Slayers hidden in the shadow of a large tree. The boy took in his surroundings for the first time, realising that he'd sprinted all the way down the mountain and was now standing near where they'd first entered, in what had seemed like only seconds since he'd watched Y/N and Sabito d-

No.

"Wait ..." He realised that it had been Hiroko who had yelled his name and snapped him from his daze. Her voice was now trembling, those dark eyes watering to the point that their colour was distorted. "Where's Y/N? Where's Sabito?"

He didn't answer, unable to do anything but stare at her. He couldn't feel - everything was so devoid of emotion that it hurt, but he couldn't do anything.
