The expedition ²

Levi quickly got ready.
He put on his clothes and got dressed.

He looked into the mirror.
His greasy hair stuck to his forehead. He was small and fragile. If he wasn't famous nobody would guess he was humanities strongest.

He washed his face, taking a good look at it.

His eyebags were incredibly distracting. They were a dark shade of blue-ish purple.

The face that looked back at him made him sick.

'Scum' he muttered.
His reflection just stared back.

The more he looked at it, the worse he felt.
"Damn it!" He screamed, punching the mirror.

Storming out of his room, he headed to breakfast.

"Hey Levi! Come sit down with us!" Hange called out
They were sitting at a table with Erwin, Mike, Nanaba and Moblit.

"Fuck off" Levi muttered.

Moblit looked at him, obviously annoyed.

Moblit and Hange had been dating for a while. Moblit, although he knew that Levi didn't mean the things he said, he still didn't like Levi insulting his partner.

"Why the hell are you letting yourself get so attached to others? They're gonna die eventually."  The raven responded

"HUH? So? You're telling me to miss my chance to be happy now so I can be less sad later? That's just a waste!!" The brunette replied, completely dumbfounded.

The tall, mustached man just silently nodded in agreement.

"I'd much rather be happy while I can, and worry about the future later" The fair-haired male added

"Levi?"

Someone was calling out

"Levi??"
It was Erwin

"Tch. I zoned out for a minute, what is it eyebrows?"

"Well, you should hurry up with breakfast. We leave in 30 minutes."

"I'm not hungry"

"Levi, you should really eat something"
Erwin replied again

"I said I'm not fucking hungry" Levi said, agitated

"Well, having a balanced diet is incredibly important, especially for a solider." Erwin slightly smiled

"You know full well I'm perfectly fine as a solider. I don't need advice from a fucking old man. I'm 'humanity's strongest', according to you. Or is your memory getting that bad?" Levi was getting visibly frustrated

"Well, not sleeping and not eating isn't going to do you any good. Please, just eat." Erwin frowned

"Maybe YOU should stop prying into people's business. Quit being a fucking creep, eyebrows." Levi shouted

The whole table went silent.
Shit.
He went too far.

"Alright then." Erwin muttered under his breath, visibly disappointed

Suprised at Erwin's lackluster response, Levi got up and out of the cafeteria.

Hopefully Erwin will forget this after the mission goes successfully.

-TIME SKIP-
They were outside of the walls.

Levi was at the back, along with Hange and Moblit. His mission was to kill surrounding titans and protect Hange while they capture a titan.

Suddenly, Levi spotted a 5-meter-class titan.
"Heichou, signal!"

Levi ignored Moblit.

"Heichou, the commander instructed us to signal-"

Levi grabbed onto a nearby tree, spun around and sliced out the nape.

Moblit didn't talk back.

This happened a few more times.
Levi refused to signal anytime a titan approached.
He was confident, fitting for humanity's strongest.

Alarming squads for simple 5-20 meter titans was a waste of time for Levi.

Moblit helped Levi kill a few titans, while Hange was trying to locate a suitable test subject.

Levi was in the surrounding area,clearing it of titans. When the subject was located  Moblit was needed to fire a signal to alert Levi, while Hange was expected to lure the titan.

It was a perfect plan, nobody expected less from the commander.

-HANGE'S SIDE-

"This....this is the one" Hange said, pointing at a titan

Moblit's face went white.
"A FIFTEEN METER CLASS??" Moblit was unsure that they could catch it.

Hange put the traps down. They started flying in front of the titan, making sure to keep just enough distance to not get eaten.

"Don't worry, just follow me!" Hange yelled at the titan excitedly 

Hange was so excited. Getting dangerously close to it's face.

They were getting closer.

And closer.

Hange didn't seem to be worried at all.
They were known for a lack of fear and self-awareness.

"Hange? HANGE?" Moblit screamed, putting himself in front of the titan.

He desperately tried to press the signal, barely pressing it as it fell out of his hand.

He was dangling from the titans mouth.
He looked terrified.

"Hange. I love you. I'm sorry." Moblit said, slightly smiling.

"MOBLIT!" Hange screamed, grabbing his hand.

They were both pulled into the titans mouth, holding onto each other.

A tragic way to die. In a way, it was almost beautiful. Dying, holding on to the love of your life? What could be nicer.

And as Hange felt their life flash in front of their eyes, it was all over.

Moblit smiled warmly and closed his eyes.
They could both finally be at peace.

-LEVI'S SIDE-

Signal.

Levi was in the middle of killing a 10-meter titan.

Hange located the target.

Levi griped his ODM gear to a nearby tree, finishing the titan off.

Quickly heading to the place Hange signaled.

Then he saw it.

A titan had something hanging out of his mouth.

This chapter was a bit deppresing, but it will only get sadder <3

Honestly I dying togheter with someone is really romantic, but sad at the same time.
