The Vice Mayor gave them both a nod, before walking off.

Brainstorm grabbed Volt's arm pulling her towards the food bar. Volt rolled her eyes playfully as she stumbled behind him, "The food bar is 12 feet away, calm down."

Brainstorm couldn't help but laugh.

The two of them arrived in front of a long table covered in many different foods. There were things such as, ham and cheese sandwiches, grapes, crackers, steaks, mac and cheese, and rice. There were also desserts such as, chocolate covered strawberries, tiramisu, chocolate chip cookies, and vanilla cake.

Volt grabbed herself a paper plate, as well as a fork, about to get herself some mac and cheese when she noticed Brainstorm beside her picking up the whole vanilla cake.

"Bose, you cannot take the entire cake-" she looked at him with a kind of 'wtf are you doing' look.

Brainstorm shot a glare at Volt, "Dad said we could help ourselves at the food bar, so I'm helping myself by taking the entire cake."

Volt bit her bottom lip for a second, "That's a good point, but I'm sure they meant to have the cake shared across everyone at the party. You know, handing out one slice at a time." Patience was really something you had to have when speaking to Bose, so those lessons in anger management classes really helped her out.

"This is my slice," he smiled, "I just got the last one."

Volt stood there looking at him blankly. She would have let him take the entire cake if it wasn't for the bet her and Ray had made a few days ago. After an incident that happened, Chapa bet him 5 dollars that she could go the week without getting in trouble and she knew damn well if someone saw Brainstorm eating the entire cake, something was gonna happen.
She wasn't gonna lose 5 dollars just because of Bose.

"Let's just put the cake down, okay?" she reached over, grabbed both sides of the cake pan, and pulled slightly, indicating she was taking it from him.

Noticing this, Brainstorm immediately reached his head down towards the cake licking a large line of frosting off of the top of it.

"Bose!" Volt sighed, removing her hands from the pan. "Fine, take it." she turned back to the table to finally fix herself some mac and cheese.

Brainstorm smiled, beginning to walk off to an empty table. But being too distracted by the cake in his hands, he ran into a trash can that was in front of him, tripped, and fell face first into the cake.

The sound of him crashing echoed through the room causing the loud chatter to cease and eyes to be placed on him. When Volt noticed what happened, she slapped a hand across her mouth to prevent herself from laughing out loud.

Brainstorm sat up to his knees wiping the cake out of his eyes. He knew everyone was looking at him; he was able to tell from the silence of the room. He was tempted to look up at the peering eyes that were on him, but he was way too embarrassed. So instead, he turned his gaze towards Volt, he trusted her more than anything. Even though her mouth was covered, he could tell from her watery eyes that she was trying not laugh. That's when an idea hit him.

Before standing from the ground, Brainstorm picked up a hand full of the cake. He proceeded to walk over to Volt looking at her dead in the eyes.

Volt removed her hand from her mouth still trying to hold back her laughter. She knew he fell face first, so she wanted to make sure he didn't get hurt, "Are you-" She couldn't even finish her sentence as Brainstorm took the glob of cake he had in his hand and smeared it from the top of Volt's head all the way down to the bottom of her face.

Volt gasped at his sudden actions and brought her gaze up into his. By seeing each other's faces they couldn't help but burst out into a fit of laughter.

For revenge, Volt pushed Brainstorm onto the floor, grabbed a hand full of cake and smeared it all over in his hair. While she was doing this, Brainstorm extended his arm beside him and grabbed more cake putting it all over her face a second time.

The opening and shutting of a door startled everyone away from the two superheroes, "What's going on here?!" the Vice Mayor yelled.

"Volt did it," Brainstorm immediately pointed at her.

Volt punched his shoulder, "I didn't do anything, it was all him."

Volt and Brainstorm sat in the back of the manvan covered in cake. It was quiet, except for the music playing from the radio.

The Vice Mayor had called Captain Man informing him what had happened, so he had sent Schwoz to go pick them up.

Volt couldn't help but think about that mac
and cheese that she didn't get to eat. She stood up from the small couch and sat in the front seat, "Schwoz?"

"What is it?" he looked at her, laughing a bit at her appearance. To be honest he wasn't mad at them at all, he actually thought all that happened was quite funny.

"Can we pick up some Nacho Ball? I was gonna eat some mac and cheese but Bose decided to trip over a trash can and fall face first into a cake," she turned her head a bit glancing at Brainstorm.

"I didn't do it purposely! I was really happy to be able to eat that whole thing." he crossed his arms.

Schwoz laughed, "Sure, we can pick some up."

Volt got up from the front seat sitting back in her original spot. She turned her head to Brainstorm and smiled.

He smiled back.
