Y/N: “have you read your letter yet?”
SEONGHWA: “yeah, I read mine.”
Y/N: “i don’t think I can even look at what he wrote.”
Y/N: “i feel like I'm gonna throw up if i read it.”
Y/N: “i just can’t believe he’s gone.”
Y/N: “and reading that letter means accepting it.”
SEONGHWA: “take your time with it.”
SEONGHWA: “grief is hardly a straight line. you need to take it one step at a time.”
Y/N: “it feels like it’s suffocating me, you know?”
SEONGHWA: “grief is normally defined as all the love you couldn't give. all the times you could have spent.”
Y/N: “and all the time i’ll spend wondering how it could have been different.”
Seonghwa nods. The two sit in silence.
Seonghwa’s letter written to him by Hongjoong wasn’t some emotional one. it was pretty straight forward. Hongjoong had entrusted him with the responsibility of looking out for the entire group as the eldest.
And hongjoong had also not so subtly threatened him to take care of you. in the kind words of Kim Hongjoong, if so much as even a hair moved from your head, he would haunt seonghwa till the end of time.
