"No no, you gotta put the D in front of E Baji." Chifuyu tried to explain for the 3rd time in 10 minutes. It was now after school and the two delinquents were in Bajis class trying to help him with a writing assignment, things were not going as fully expected.
"DAMMIT THIS IS DUMB!" Baji spoke loudly, the room filled with a slight echo, his body was slouched in his chair and his arms across his chest with shoulders tense. He was pissed.
"Baji if you could just-" Chifuyu started but was soon cut off by the sound of an opening door. It wasn't unusual, there was school clubs going on at this time but it was definitely strange that some rando is entertaining the classroom, maybe a classmate who forgot something?
As the door opened slowly and carefully a boy came into view, a not so tall but not so short boy, a boy who probably had one or two admirers, he was not popular nor was he considered a "loner". He has a cast on, a clean white cast that was the result of a mysterious incident. He was Y/N L/N. A boy from class 2-B, Chifuyus classmate and close acquaintance.
"Hey Chifuyu, you left this e- oh, I'm so sorry, was I interrupting something?" The boy spoke, his subtle smile turning into a slight worried one when he noticed his classmate was with another.
"No no it's fine L/N, what was it a-" Baji toned everything out, he couldn't hear anything except his own heart, the feeling you get when you just finished running 10 miles, that feeling that you're going to vomit if you talk while your ears are ringing and your heart is the only other thing you can make out.
It felt as if the spotlight was on him. Him being L/N. Baji didn't know why, how could he have? He's just 14, but he knew he couldn't stop looking at your face, at your small smile, at everything.
Everything felt light and his ears felt like they were going to burn off any second, his face showed no signs of this though. Except the subtle blush that would only be noticed if looking at his face with noses touching.
On the outside one would think Baji was staring you down as if you did a crime no one knew about except him, you shifted nervously. Eyes shifting between him and Chifuyu who was thanking you for bringing him the homework paper he forgot about. You start to pick at your cast, a nervous habit you developed instead of your fingers.
"Ah! Thank you so much L/N! I completely forgot we had it." Chifuyu said with relief, "It was no problem Chifuyu, I'm sorry you didn't receive it earlier, it was a struggle to find out where you were." L/N let out an awkward chuckle, still feeling like a mouse being stared down at by a big cat (that big cat being Baji).
"Well then, I better go now, I don't want to be late to do my homework-" "stay with us!" Chifuyu offered, a casual happy smile decorated his face while going back to sit with Baji.
'OH MY GOD NO PLEASE NO.' L/N and Baji thought at the same time, it's not like there was hate but there was definitely a mixture of fear and complicated feelings in the room, but alas L/N being the good person he is said, "O-Okay, sure." He awkwardly put his things down near a chair next to Chifuyu and sat.
It has now hit Chifuyu that the silence is definitely noticeable and weird, he knows L/N social skills aren't really the best and Baji is just simply intimidating without even trying.
"I don't think you guys have met yet, huh? Baji this is L/N, L/N this is Baji, I know he looks scary but don't worry he is really nice." Chifuyu said the last part quietly but loud enough for the long haired delinquent to hear, Baji simply grumbled I'm responses to the unnecessary comment. Looking away from the two. Y/N on the other hand nodded and soon spoke "It's really nice to meet you Baji-san, Chifuyu has told me many good-" "you can just call me Baji," L/N was interrupted, he was actually quite surprised that the boy chose to speak to him.
"Baji-San is too formal for my liking, just call me Baji, I won't complain." He turned his rested head towards you, the afternoon light making his hair look shiny and healthy (even though we all know it's not) and his firm eyes have softened up just a tad and his annoyed face looking just slightly less annoyed (he has a resting bitch face)
It was in that moment you knew you would grow close with Baji and in that moment Baji had a new life goal, to grow closer to you.
Chifuyu on the other hand looks at Baji in confusion, he has never acted like this towards anyone as far as he knows.

"Well it was nice to meet you Baji-sa- I mean Baji. And thank you for inviting me to hang out with you guys Chifuyu." Y/N smiled. It was different compared to the one he had when he first met Baji today, no one could describe it. It was just- different.
"Well anyways, I hope to see you tomorrow." Y/N waved his casted hand nervously as he started to turn around to the direction of his house.
As he slowly disappeared into the distance the two best friends start walking to there apartment complex, "So, Y/N huh? Isn't he cool?" Chifuyu started the conversation.
"Yeah I guess." The two then ended up going to different subjects for conversation but there was one thing that just couldn't leave Bajis mind, it stuck with him the entire evening, night, even the next morning,
