SEE YOU SOON
••••

I've always had big dreams as a kid and worked towards them my entire life and in the end, I got what I wanted but more than I needed. Take now for example; I'm currently in Times Square weaving my way through millions of people in hopes of losing what I believe to be a tail, not only at the risk of my own life but that of a soon-to-be. How do I even begin to explain how I got myself in this mess in the first place?

Marriage

That's where it all started, jumping the gun is what it is. I was way ahead of myself the minute I said yes, who would've thought that having the life I always wanted could potentially be my demise. I'll tell you my story eventually, after I'm in the clear.

"I'm being followed, I'm heading towards Broadway on seventh avenue meet me there" I said as soon as I heard the line open

"What do you mean you're being followed! I told you to stay in one place, ONE PLACE Mia! Fuc...! I'm on my way, stick to the crowd, I doubt he'd make such an obvious move there"

"Yea I know, see you soon"

Somehow things never seem to go as planned though because instead of him waiting for me I'm in the backseat of a sedan, with a gun pressed against my ribcage. At this point I'm convinced I'm in a Wattpad book, because this is some movie type beat. Do I start panicking at this point? Because there's one of two ways this could go and that's with me in a body bag or at home in bed and I'd much rather do the latter.

For now, I'll just keep my mouth shut,

"You've got the wrong person here bud, so why don't you let me go and I'll pretend this never happened" is what I said.

Well at least I wasn't dead, he just pretended like I didn't exist, but for a couple of kidnappers the driver sure paid attention to the stop lights than he did my statement. Hey, I wasn't complaining, but I refused to be complacent, so I did what I do best, analyze.

By the look of things, they were going somewhere in this vicinity based on the speed at which we were driving, secondly, we were on our way to meet someone because dick #1 sent a message to someone as soon as we got in the vehicle.

I could wait and see who this person was, or I could make a break for it at the next stop light and find out afterwards, but would it be too late? Jace was probably tracking my location using the chip in my earring, but we could be dead by the time he's able to reach me.

Whoever said "time is the master of all things" lied.

Time wasn't on my side, so without a second thought I screamed causing dick#2 to press on the brakes suddenly and before they had a chance to gag me, I opened the car door and started running.

Where to? was the next question... I couldn't go to the police station for obvious reasons, and they threw my phone the minute I was grabbed.

The street where I was supposed to meet Jace was in the opposite direction and by opposite, I mean the direction I just escaped from. While staying in the crowd was working in my favor, I needed to leave the area, contact Jace, and get out of the city as planned.

Payphone ... Payphone ... Payphone

None!

"Excuse me, could I borrow your phone to make a call please, it's urgent" The lady looked at me like I was crazy but handed her phone to me anyways

"Thank you"

Come on answer

"Hello"

"Jace..."

"Mia, I have been looking for you for the last 20 minutes, what happened to..."

"Listen to me I'll explain everything later, I'm at west way diner. They found me Jace, and it won't be long before it becomes permanent"

Before he could reply the phone was grabbed from my hand and I was met with a death glare "kids these days" is what she said before scurrying off. I had about 30 minutes before they found me again and I wouldn't get the same royalty treatment as the last time.

I should've stayed in the car after all... what's the worst that could've happened? Death right.

All I wanted to do was to confirm what Dr. Miller said in the message and grab a bite, after being locked up in that God forbidden house for almost an entire month but with Jace breathing down my neck, I had to get some fresh air.

When he gets here, I'll apologize and promise to listen to his every instruction, well that's what I'll tell him anyway. I knew coming here meant eyes and ears at every block, but what better place to hide a needle than in a hay stock.

What was strange though was how fast the news travelled, did someone in security detail tip them off or was it purely by chance but if it weren't who would have? Only about five people knew I was leaving the house today, where I was going and the time.

But after all that exercise, I was too tired to think and plus Jace just pulled up outside the restaurant, and with the look on his face I wouldn't hear the end of it. I might as well get something to eat because I had the feeling that this was going to be the last time I saw the inside of a diner and as for what I was saying before, let's call it coincidence in the meantime.
