Part 3 - What if Mitch won the trial?

"Y-Yuki you know what happens if you vote the wrong culprit?" Tsurugi asked.

"No, I don't, does anything bad happen?" Yuki asked, very vulnerable at this point.

You know, I don't know what happens if they vote the wrong culprit, I hope it's what I think it is.

"We-" Tsurugi was cut off by Monokuma.

"You all will get executed except for the blackened." Monokuma said, his words repeated in my mind.

Everyone turned and stared at Mitch in disbelief, he was looking at the floor, I bet he couldn't look any of us in the eye after what he done, he killed us all, not just Kiyoka. I can't believe someone who I looked up too as a friend as a classmate would do such a horrible thing.

Mitch's POV

I waited as the slot machine rolled, everyone had voted Kizuna Tomori. All of them are bunch of idiots, I thought at least Rei or Tsurugi or even maybe Yuki or Kinji would be able to guess me as the killer but no, they all deducted that Kizuna was the blackened. I don't even know what clues lead them to that deduction but some clues apparently did.

I waited nervously as the machine kept rolling and rolling, after a minute of me having a mental break down it finally landed on, Kizuna Tomori! I was so happy, I can't believe I get to leave this horrid place, yes I do feel a tinge of guilt leaving the rest behind but at least they will be alive, right?

The machine sounds rang through the trial room, that was the sound that symbolize they were wrong. Everyone stayed quiet for awhile until someone decided to speak up or much rather shout.

"Wh-WHATTT?" Teruya shouted.

Thanks to Teruya shouting that, the realization hit all of them, they voted wrong blackened and now they have to know who really killed Kiyoka Maki in such a brutal way, at least that's how Akane described it at least.

"We got the culprit wrong?" Tsurugi muttered, in disbelief and shock. "THEN WHO WAS THE ONE WHO TOOK AWAY HER LIFE?!" Tsurugi quickly went from whispering to shouting. "WHO'S THE ONE WHO WANTED TO GET OUT SO BADLY?"

"SEE I TOLD YOU WOULD WOULD REGRET IT!" Kizuna shouted.

"O-Oh my God, Tomori-san, I'm so sorry that we did that to you a-" Akane was cut off with Monokuma's sing-song of a voice.

"You go the culprit wrong so now they must confess your crimes, they took away a life so then they could leave this place behind." Monokuma sang.

"You know singing it won't make it better?" Satsuki says.

"Yeah I know but at least now I have one hell of a show to present to the blackened." Monokuma says.

"What do you mean? Just because we got the culprit wrong doesn't mean anything!" Yuki said.

I'm starting to feel a tinge of guilt, I know, I know, taking away someone's life is inevitable and I can't change what I've done but I feel guilty that I had to lie to them, that they uncovered the wrong truth.

"Y-Yuki you know what happens if you vote the wrong culprit?" Tsurugi asked.

"No, I don't, does anything bad happen?" Yuki asked, very vulnerable at this point.

"We-" Monokuma cut him off for some reason, I guess he wants to share the news.

'You all will get executed except for the blackened, You all will get executed except for the blackened, You all will get executed except for the blackened, wait, everyone will die because of.. me?' It took me awhile but I finally was able to understand what Monokuma said and it now makes sense why Kizuna was saying they'll all die if they vote her.
