[A/N: ok omg so it seems like everytime i try to do a fanfic the celeb gets CANCELED wut first it was zheng shuang then last week lucas wong yukhei from nct/wayv whose face we borrowed for this story now he's on "hiatus" bc of his own scandal AGH my heart cannot handle these roller coasters

Readers from india now im thinking should i try to get into indian dramas? is it more chill w/all the celebrity culture? it was natural for me to get into c-dramas bc of my family background but i swear i cant handle the level of stress around watching all these c-ent idols get cancelled and smeared for awful mistakes, anyway indian drama recs welcome

also like ughhghghr next time i write something, its just going to be pure fic, no more fanfic based on real world idols its too 😭😭

Anyway on with the story, sorry for the slow posts school is starting and also i'm recovering from scandal shock. And sorry this chapter's a little dry, stick with me, it'll pick back up.  Ok. story:]

A big, black-painted door loomed in front of Kai. The home of Professor Nancy Becker—the Residential College Head. Kai looked at her phone, at the text from Lukas:

Pushing the door open, Kai found herself face to face with a gold-framed mirror

Pushing the door open, Kai found herself face to face with a gold-framed mirror. Her reflection blinked back at her. Her cheeks and the tip of her nose were red from the cold.

She'd dressed up just a little. Put on a little mascara. Because, really this was a date. Even though she had no idea what Lukas had planned.

To her left was a cozy sitting room with a divan and four brocade chairs. A fire danced around in the fireplace.

But no one was there. Then she saw a gold plaque sign with the word OFFICE and an arrow pointing her to the right.

She moved down the hall and to the office.

The second she walked in, Lukas's tall, impressive presence lit up her peripheral vision. He stood like a CEO behind a weighty mahogany desk. His eyes met hers with a smile. And then Kai realized that there was an older woman actually seated at the desk. She was almost eclipsed by Lukas's presence.

It was Professor Becker: An elegant woman. Gray-silver chin-length hair.

She was Gaffigan's College Head. The woman was in charge of dorm life.

Kai'd seen her across the hall, the second day of college. That day, this woman and Dean Wykcoff addressed all the new freshmen, their voices echoing forth in the dining hall. It'd been the morning of the Frosh Olympics. They'd given a pep talk, and told them about some rules. The dean made some jokes about how students now had infinite Froot Loops and Cap'n Crunch. "Your parents can't put limits on your sugary cereal now," he'd said.
