Chapter 36

Pumasok na ako noong Monday after we came back from Vigan.

I was still horrified by the girl i met in that ancestral house. I told my cousins about her but Ad said she was cool.

Hindi naman masyadong worst ang sitwasyon since hindi pa ganoon ka dami ang pasyente. I only got few sessions with patients that are mostly teenagers kaya naging madali sa akin ang ibang issues. They just have to come based on the scheduled visits after medical prescriptions.

My first three days went well. I've met a lot of people and have already dealt with various issues. And I have never felt so placed in a right situation.

"Mands, paki-check nito please." Ady brought his laptop above my table. It was our lunch break and we're eating in our wards.

Nanliit ang mata ko sa presentation niya na pinakita na niya sa akin sa pangatlong beses. He's going to present on the upcoming meeting. Dr. Ledesma assigned him the overview of the services of the hospital. Hindi naman masyadong critical ang presentation, and it won't take an hour, but he's been fidgety ever since.

"You're anxious. You should know how to cope it, nasa behavioral hospital ka. Get it together. Kaya mo 'yan." Katie went to us while she's handing me a blueberry juice. "Oh, mamaya na change mo."

"Thanks." I smiled at her.

Ady looked at Katie. "This is a grand meeting. Pupunta lahat ng contributors, I can't mess this up." He said and once again, run his fingers through his hair.

Ngumiwi agad si Katie at nagpipindot doon sa phone niya.

Ako lang 'yong baguhan na na assign with them, na nauna pa sa aking na employ dito. I don't know why Ady's been bugging me about it. Hindi ko naman kabisado at hindi ko pa nakikita yung mga contributors of this hospital unlike them.

"You won't mess this up, Ady." I chided. "Okay na yan." Nguso ko sa presentation niyan.

"Hindi mo pa tinitingnan, e." Angil niya kaya natawa ako. "Tignan mo sa parte dito oh." He said and he scrolled on the slides.

Si Katie umiiling na habang natatawa sa kanya. "Galing ka raw kasi States. He needs your opinion."

Ngumiwi ako at tiningnan si Ady. He's creasing his brows over the laptop. "It's not in the place you graduated Ady. It's in the skill. Kaya mo yan, I'm telling you."

Bukas na kasi yung grand meeting. I was not that nervous enough dahil wala naman kaming gagawin doon except for Ady. We'll just gonna listen to whatever they have to say. I really want to para makilala ko rin ang mga taong involved in the place I'm working. That would be better though not that exclusively necessary.

The next day, hindi ko na rin mapigilang matawa sa itsura ni Ady. Katie kept on encouraging him but she's laughing. Kaya pakiramdam ko hindi kumakalma si Ady.

He kept on pacing in front of the function hall. Nakaupo kami at naghihintay sa mga bisita. Nandoon na din yung nakita kong lalaki noong unang beses na pumunta ako dito along with other new hires. We're all wearing coats and it still felt surreal that I'm one of these amazing people.

"Ady, Mands, punta na ako. Kailangan ako ng alaga ko." Katie said. Yes, alaga ang tawag namin sa mga pasyente dito.

She looked at Ady and she smiled. "Hoy! Aalis na ako nahihilo ako kakalakad mo, e. Mands? Ikaw na bahala dito." Natatawa niyang nguso kay Ady.

Ady looked at her for a while and he nodded.

Noong umalis si Katie ay umupo na rin siya sa tabi ko.
