"It's not my mind that needs to be changed" Lorelai tells her. "I don't think she meant it" Rory says.

"Oh, she meant it" Lorelai insists. "Well maybe she thinks she meant it at the time, but I bet she won't mean it later when we show up there without you" Victoria says. "And without a map to follow that reasoning I say take a hat it's cold outside" Lorelai replies.

"So you just wanna hold a grudge" Rory comments.

"Yes, it burns more calories" Lorelai responds. "That's not true" Victoria says.

"Yes, it is. How do you think your grandma got those legs of hers? She's not exactly a stair master gal" Lorelai tells her. "Mom" Rory says. "Never saw her on the running track" Lorelai continues.

"Okay" Victoria says.

"I don't remember the country club organizing a tae-bo class" Lorelai keeps talking. "Fine, forget it" Rory says.

"Should I put your name on grandma's present?" Victoria asks her mother. "Yes, sign it the innkeeper formerly known as her daughter" Lorelai answers. "You know what I think?" Rory asks.

"What?" Lorelai responds.

"I think you're acting a little immature" Rory says. "I'm not acting" Lorelai replies.

"Well what about the apple tarts? You wait all year for those apple tarts" Victoria asks. "I can live without the apple tarts" Lorelai tells her. "You've made up songs after eating five of them with lyrics that contradict that last statement" Rory says.

"Oh you know what, you have to go your late" Lorelai says handing them the keys.

"You really won't come?" Victoria asks. "What? I'm sorry is somebody speaking? It couldn't be Victoria already half way to Hartford" Lorelai says.

"Fine, we're going" Victoria says taking the keys from her mother's hand before her and her sister leave.

"Hi grandma" Victoria says as Emily lets her and Rory in.

"Girls, come in you look lovely" Emily says. "This is from us and mom" Rory says handing her a gift.

"Well, aren't you thoughtful? I'll just put it under the tree" Emily tells them. "You know, mom actually picked it out" Victoria says. "Do you know Holland Prescott?" Emily asks the girls changing the topic.

"We met her last year" Rory tells her.

"Holland, look who's here" Emily says. "Hello girls" Holland greets them.

"Hi" Victoria says. "Richard, Allen look who's here" Emily says to her husband and friend. "Hello girls" Richard says to his granddaughters.

"Hi" Rory says this time.

"Where's your mother?" a man asks. "Oh, well she..." Victoria starts not knowing what to says.

"Over by the apple tarts I assume" the man guesses. "Lorelai couldn't come tonight" Emily tells him. "She couldn't?" Richard asks not knowing that his wife uninvited her.

"No, she had to work" Emily says.

"So, what are your plans for the Christmas holiday girls?" one of their grandmothers friends asks them.

"I'll probably just be hanging out with mom" Rory answers. "Oh it's such a shame she couldn't come, she's always such a kick" another woman says.

"Lorelai wasn't feeling well, so I suggested she stay home" Emily lies. "It is hot in here, I'm gonna lower the thermostat" Richard says leaving the room. "Poor thing, what's wrong with her?" a lady asks about Lorelai.
