Santana's POV

High School is a funny thing. It might seem like we students are all the same, but everybody knows that it is not quite like that and there are some lines you just can't cross.

Unless you're a sassy bitch. And that was me in my junior year.

Co captain of the Cheerios, had a hot boyfriend, a best friend who also was the most popular girl at William Mckinley, Quinn Fabray, and as if all that wasn't enough, I was a straight A student.

So you might imagine everybody's surprise, when the new girl went through all tables at the cafeteria and chose to sit right next to me, at the Cheerios table.

No one had ever done that before.

No one.

And as the sassy bitch, people just expected for me to yell at her or do something like that, but when I turned around to see her, I got speechless.

And that's a very rare thing coming from me.

I just simply couldn't turn her down with that sweet smile of hers and those curious, honest, hypnotizing, blue eyes.

The only thing I managed to say was my name.

And she seemed happy with that.

- it's a beautiful name. Santana Lopez. - she said

-thanks.

End of conversation. And we began to eat. And everybody got back to their lives.
Well everybody but me. And Brittany.

We were too busy eye contacting.

Later that day / at Cheerios' practice

Later that day, at the cheerleaders practice, there she was, so beautiful, trying out for the team.

Her spirit was so bright it could light up the whole Ohio for months.

I didn't know back than but I fell in love with that spirit of hers, because deep inside of me I felt a little empty, a little dark, and just a little smile from her could light up my soul.

So after she and all the other girls had danced and done Sue's routine ( and I have to say brittany was by far, the best of them ) Sue looked at the paper she was holding and wrote a few things in there, then she -still looking at the paper- started to announce the girls who made into the team.

Five out of twenty.

She called all names one by one. I was sure Britt was gonna make it.

But she didn't.

Sue didn't call her name. She simply turned away, as the Britt started to cry.

I looked at Brittany. She was so sad, and that made me so sad. I had to do something. So I ran right into Sue.

- Sue Sylvester! - I yelled- that was unfair!

-excuse me Ms Lopez?

- Why didn't you choose Brittany? She was clearly better than the others.

-Brittany? Oh the crier. - she looked at britt- I don't like criers. They are all weak.

- Bullshit. She is good that's what matters.

- Watch your words ms. And just for the record she didn't make the team because she is an awful student. And I can't afford to have that kind of grades in my Cheerios.

- and what it...um... What if I helped her? I could help her. Study, improve her grades. Give me a week! She will be better.

Sue looked at me, than at Brittany, then at her bag.

- ok... - she turned to Britt- Congratulations Crier! Santana here payed your ticket right into our Cheerios!

-omg -she yelled- thank you!

- and santana... - she turned to me, with a serious face- One week! If she don't get at least a B- on her next math test, then you're both off the team.
