The Marauder Stories: Sirius Black

Chapter Four

“Like I said Polaris, excluding family members, and besides no one likes cousin Bella either.” Sirius said “I sometimes even wonder if I’m adopted, I don’t like any of my parents anyway, I especially DO NOT look like Regulus-“

“Actually Padfoot, you three look exactly alike it’s obvious your siblings, by the hair and eyes.” Said Remus

Sirius gaped

“I do not look like REGULUS, Polaris is fine but him no way!” he said “I’d rather think that I’m adopted.”

“Er, you can’t be just by the looks and mother would never communicate with anyone non pureblood, and there aren’t many people out there, and she wouldn’t want anyone adopted from the family.” Said Polaris “She even married father her who’s her SECOND COUSIN remember? So you have a chance with cousin Bella.” James, Remus and Peter looked shocked at what they just heard

“You’re parents are second cousins?” they said at once sounding really shocked

“Yep,” said Polaris

“Why?” asked Peter

“Well, there aren’t very many pureblood families out there and no one in the family’s allowed to communicate or get married to someone lower than that, so there some of the members marry their cousins.” Said Sirius sounding a bit disgusted “But in my opinion, I wouldn’t care, I’d get married to a muggle for all I care.”

“Or you could always go with cousin Bella.” Said Polaris, and they all laughed

Padfoot, you never talked about your family like this.” Said James

“Well, I don’t like talking about those lunatics, no offense Pol” he looked at his sister “but I have someone who’s on my side so yeah, I can talk about them.”

“I think we should take this as our opportunity.” Said Remus

“Oh yeah opportunity time.” Said James grinning widely

“What is it that you guys want to know about them? You guys look so eager.” Said Sirius, shocked at his friends sudden happiness

“Well, just a couple of questions.” Said Peter

“Yeah like, what happens at your annual family reunions that you hate it whenever you have to go. What happened to that last one?” Said James, Sirius looked disgusted and looked like he didn’t want to tell.

“Oh Merlin, they’re horrible, they get even more horrible each year.” Said Sirius “You guys wouldn’t want to know, and I wouldn’t want you guys to know, it’s a horror show.”

Then they all turned to Polaris.

“Every family reunion, well the whole family comes together at Grimmauld Place, well duh it’s a family reunion,” started Polaris “Well Sirius hates it so much because, he has to see the others and well they’re always like ‘You’ve grown so much!’ then pinches your cheeks ‘Such a handsome boy!’ ‘Where’s Regulus? Oh there he is! Walburga you must be so proud of him!’ ‘So this is your eldest? The one that got sorted into Gryffindor?’ “Said Polaris, and they all nodded.

“That must be horrible.” James said sounding a bit scared

“That isn’t even half of it, there’s still the dinner and greeting of cousins, which I hate the most.” Said Sirius sounding terrified.

The whole way to Hogwarts they talked and laughed.

The Marauders walked into The Great Hall, and all felt home again, Sirius glanced at his sister and smiled at her reassuringly, and mouthing “It will be okay”. They got to their seats and watched the Sorting begin.

“Before we begin our sorting this year, we have a girl who is going to start her fifth year with us, so she will be sorted first.” Said McGonagall

“Hmm, must be ‘the one’ Padfoot.” James said

“Whatever Prongs.” Said Sirius

“Riddle, Arianna Mary.” And a girl with long black curly hair and dark eyes came up to the stool, Sirius had his eyes on her from her walk, until she sat.

“GRYFFINDOR!” the hat shouted and the Gryffindor table erupted with applause, so did the marauders.

“Hmm, destiny is it Padfoot?” James teased, but Sirius just smiled, as he watched Arianna sit next to Lily Evans who hugged her happily. And they continued to watch the sorting,

"Black, Polaris Andromeda" Professor McGonagall called

When Polaris came, Sirius watched eagerly, wondering which house she could be sorted in. “Hmm, she can’t be in Slytherin, she isn’t very evil, though she obeys mother. But cousin Andromeda isn't evil yet she went to Slytherin, she's quite smart though Ravenclaw? Oh Merlin I hope she does to Gryffindor. ” Sirius thought

Polaris sat on the chair nervously, and the hat was placed on her head. The hat seemed to deliberate, and it opened its mouth, it had made it’s decision.

A/N: Guys need more opinions please which house?!I can’t decide : ))
