Chapter 12: Testing pt. 2

I shook my head and waved my hand. "It's fine, I can get used to this new.. form of technology." I slightly smiled and stood tall preparing for the fight.

Victor didn't hesitate to start shooting from his cannon towards me.

Once he started I began to run while dodging. My eyes darted towards each blast that was coming towards me.

They ended up stopping due to Victor needing to recharge. I took my chance to quickly catch my breath and balance.

I didn't want to end up hurting him so I tried to aiming poorly with my flames.

Then I came up with a better idea. I tried to lay my flames down enough and extinguish each one of them to create a smokescreen.

Once it was created and his arm was recharging, I assumed he couldn't switch it out at the moment.

But I was wrong. He was able to suck the smoke with his same arm. I huffed in annoyance.

I placed my hand on the ground, palm kissing the cold floor. I then created a line of fire to go towards him and circle around him.

Once done I raised the level of them to be almost as tall as the ceiling. It was able to close him into a closed space. Now he has to give up.

It didn't take long for a reaction. But it was unexpected. My own flames was shot towards me. I tried to dodge but I ended up getting hit on my arm and slightly touched my face. I was using my arm for coverage. I crouched down for a quick breather.

"You're too good Victor... but I do like how you fight." I wiped my face.

He smiled. "Why thank you! But I should leave the rest to Rachel. I don't wanna exhaust you before even getting to fight her." He then walked towards where Robin was.

Rachel headed my way and pulled her hood down for a better view around us.

I stood up and asked a question. "So what are we doing?"

"Give me everything you got. I'd love to see how you fight in a real battle." She smiled.

I smirked and waved my tail a bit. I nodded as a sign I was ready.

Rachel came darting towards me using her magic to restrain me. I was able to dodge in time and grabbed onto her cloak. I was able to swing her back to where she originally was and raised my hands.

With flames placed on my palms, I drew out a circle in front of me. Once done I punched my hand through it and a huge flame came towards her.

She then put up a shield to avoid it. "You guys are too good... I want to fully win a fight here." Rachel chuckled across from me.

-Slight time skip-

This girl is much more capable that I imagined. I tried everything I could think of as an attack. But I was out of ideas. All I could do was dodge and try and shield myself.

I guess she's trying to push my limits. But then again... I don't want to show all of my abilities in case things go wrong with them...

I groan and keep trying to defend her attacks.

Once I was fed up I raised my hand. Rachel was giving an attempt of punching me to refrain from using too much of her magic. So I caught her hand in an instant.

I stared at her dead in the eyes and using my other hand to grab her torso. I then threw her across the room with all my strength.

She hit the wall kind of rough with a groan on pain. I sigh in relief. Did I win?

I stared at her for a few seconds before pacing towards her checking if I didn't go too far.

I placed my hand on her back. "Did I go too far? Are you alright?" I poured questions towards her if she's fine.

She grabbed my hand and patted it. I guess that means she fine. "Can you get up?" She nodded.

I then held her hand and scooped her up. I'd rather carry her so she wouldn't get too tired.

I walked towards the two guys and Victor checked if there was any damage.

"Nothing. She's just tired that's all. It's best to allow her to sleep now for proper rest for the upcoming fight." I nodded.

We parted our ways towards rooms and I said my goodnight to Victor.

Dick then lead me to her room so I can lay her in her bed.

Once I did so I whispered an apology. I got a mumble as a reply but couldn't make it out. I quietly left her room and met Dick outside at her door.

"What do I do now?" I looked at him. He was silent for a bit thinking.

He raised a finger and spoke, "I believe it would be best to have someone keep an eye on you while you're like this so, you'll be in my room."

I shrugged and followed him there. Once we were in his room he pointed at the couch in the corner. "You can take the bed since you well... got sized up a bit with your height while like this. I'll be taking the couch."

I nodded as a reply and quietly sat on his bed. I was unsure of what to say so make a conversation so I said my good nights and tried to fall asleep.

I did feel a burn on my arm which kind of made it more difficult. I quietly looked towards Dick's direction and he was already fast asleep.

I ended up falling asleep at some point although it was weird cause it feels like I have just woken up...
