Everyone was getting ready to go to battle or the farmland, including the Mikaelson twins, but Rebekah had stopped what she was doing to listen in on a nearby conversation:

"You do not have to come with us." Bjorn told Thorunn "You can go with Lagertha and the other settlers." He said looking over at his mother "I love you, and I think you are already with child." Bjorn pleaded placing a hand over Thorunn's iron plated stomach. The young couple smiled at each other before kissing.

Coming up to Rebekah's side Kol asked "Can you hear it?" referring to a fetal heartbeat.
"Yes." She replied.
"You could compel her to go with the settlers." Kol suggested.
"Unfortunately not. If this is what's meant to happen, then this is what's meant to happen."
Kol leaned forward kissing the top of her head "Come on, let's go brutally murder some Saxons - that'll make you feel better - and maybe we can get a meal out of it."
"Yes, that's a good idea. But, try to not make such a mess with your food, we don't want it to be too obvious." Rebekah warned him.

As everyone began to leave Rollo asked Ragnar "Are you happy about doing this, brother?"
"Since when does any of this have to do with my happiness?" The Viking king responded.

Whilst on the long boat trip from Wessex to Mercia, Ragnar enquired about who they were fighting against: "Tell me about your uncle."
"My uncle's name is Britwulf. Though he calls himself King Britwulf now. He has usurped my crown." Princess Kwenrith explained.
"And your brother?"
"His name is Bergred. We were always close and I love him."
"Then why does he fight against you?" Ragnar questioned.
"My uncle has poisoned his mind or used some magic against him."
"Magic?" Ragnar asked confused.
"Has no one ever used magic against you?"
"I have been deceived many times, but magic was not the cause of it."

"You might want to be careful with that, King Ragnar, magic is a lot more common than some might think it is." Kol spoke up from near them where he had been deliberately eavesdropping since the word 'magic' was mentioned. "Princess Kwenrith, if your uncle truly has had access to some form of magic, I'd be happy to take a look at his resources and see if there's a way to undo his horrible spell." Kol said with fake sympathy on the last part.
"Thank you..." Kwenrith trailed off not knowing his name
"Kol Mikaelson." He replied now standing in front of her.

"Well Kol, I might just take you up on that

"Well Kol, I might just take you up on that." Princess Kwenrith noted.

When Kol rejoined Rebekah where they were sitting she asked him "You really think he used magic?"
"No. Like you said people in this age thought anything suspicious was witchcraft, but if there's any chance, we need to take it." Kol explained.

The ships arrived just outside of Mercia and the joint forces set up camp expecting to wait until the cover of nightfall to attack unsuspectingly. However, shortly after they had made camp a scout returned to inform Princess Kwenrith that her uncle and brother's armies were ready and waiting for them up the river.

Their vampiric abilities enabled Rebekah and Kol to catch any arrows fired at them.

The twins mercilessly and unceremoniously tore through their enemies whilst replenishing themselves whilst their counterparts were occupied with their own fights

"Well that was fun, but I do miss my baseball bat." Kol sighed to Rebekah as they joined Ragnar and a few others sitting on the small hill and pretending they were tired from the fight. "You know what, I think I understand Father more now." Rebekah said.
"We're real Vikings now, darling." Kol replied gleefully.
