It's Friday the thirteenth, and things are about to get weird. Wattpad is hosting a crossover contest!
What Do I Write About?
The theme is "crossover" so we are asking Wattpadders to write a fanfic that incorporates characters from two (or more) fandoms. Stories should be oneshots and no more than 5,000 words. All fandoms are welcome. Crossovers can be serious or silly.
Need some inspiration? Here are some fun prompts you can use to get you started:
• Scott and Stiles crash the Yule Ball at Hogwarts.
• Dean Winchester and Buffy play poker in purgatory and muse over their similarities.
• Hook uses a magic bean and finds himself in Tortuga, where he meets Jack Sparrow and another Miss Swann.
• Sherlock and John find themselves solving crimes at 21 Jump Street.
• Hermione tutors Jon Snow and helps him deal with his not-so-glamorous tagline: "you know nothing."
• Groot and Chewbacca are stuck on the USS Enterprise and must find their way back home.
• Jim Moriarty and Voldemort meet up in Villain Group Therapy and discuss who's the most evil.
• Kim Kardashian becomes the Doctor's new companion. Hilarity ensues.
• Clarke Griffin ends up at Litchfield Penitentiary and bunks with Taystee.
• One Direction enlists the help of Sherlock and John when Louis mysteriously disappears.
Things to Consider
• Pay attention to your grammar and spelling to make sure that your story is understandable and accessible.
• Try to convey feeling and emotion in your story with ample depth and detail.
• Keep your content appropriate for all Wattpadders to enjoy.
• Make sure your work is original. Do not copy another writer's work.
Submission
To participate, post your entry from your Wattpad profile as a NEW story and tag your submission with "fanficfriday" and "crossover". The deadline for submissions is Thursday March 26th at 11:59 PM EST. Along with a creative story title, please ensure you indicate the fandoms you are writing about in brackets. You can submit one (1) oneshot for this contest.
Dates & Judges
The contest will run for two weeks, starting today, Friday March 13th, and ending Thursday March 26th at 11:59 PM EST. The Wattpad Team will choose ten (10) winners, and we will announce them on April 3rd.
Prizes
To celebrate our favorite entries, the winners of the Crossover Contest will receive a shoutout from the Fanfic profile, have their story added to an appropriately-themed reading list, and be mentioned on our Fanfic Twitter channel.
