He called Taani, and said softly,
"Merry Christmas love!"
Taani looked at him shocked, it completely slipped her mind. Smiling, she mumbled softly,
"Merry Christmas Rey!"
He smiled leaning and kissing her on her lips and she did the same still holding their baby close to her chest. They kissed each other softly, living in the moment. The broke the kiss and he spoke over her lips,

"I love you jaan!"
"I love you more!"
Taani mumbled, both of them looked ta the baby, Rey held his fisted hand but what surprised them was he immediately caught Rey's finger in his small fist. Rey chuckled and Taani pouted saying,
"I can already see him going in your team."
He pulled Taani closer, hugging the both of them close to his chest,
"We all are a single team jaan!"
Taani smiled widely and Rey turned to his baby who was looking at them with big innocent eyes, the latter put his finger on the baby's lips pressing it there a little and the baby smiled at his father's act throwing his hands into the air causing Taarey to laugh. His laughter lit up their world.
Soon, Rey called the doctor and he checked both Taani and Rey, while Rey went on to inform the gang that Taani finally woke up. The gang told him that they would visit the hospital soon to meet her in the visiting hours and asked Rey to take care of her. He even already informed his parenst who literally took the next flight to India along with his in-laws. They were soon coming from Jodhpur too.
He again went inside the room, where Taani was playing with their baby. He sat beside her taking her in a side hug, when the little one started crying. Rey got tensed and panicked seeing him cry,
"Why is he crying jaan? Doctor ko bulau, usse pain to nahi ho raha na kahin?"
Taani shook her head and stopped Rey who was literally going to rush out of the room, she said giggling softly,
"Nahi Rey, aisa kuch nahi hai. He must be hungry. Jabse main hosh mein aayi hun, I haven't fed him."
Rey nodded finally understanding and asked hesitatingly,
"Do you want me to go out?"
He waited for her to answer, and smiling she denied shaking her head. Though conscious and a little shy she adjusted her hospital gown and latched the baby's mouth to her bud. She fed him, while Rey was looking at the view completely enamoured. He hasn't seen something so beautiful and pure ever. Surely, a mother and a child shares the most beautiful relation in this world. He thanked the stars, angels, god and everyone who is out there and specially Taani for letting him witness something like this.
He could see his little boy, grabbing onto Taani's breast, sometime cloth and her hair, his body squirming in her hold as he filled his tummy up. Suddenly, he started missing Avantika so much, not able to believe that once even he shared something like this with his mother.
Taani looked at him, who had tears in his eyes and asked concerned,
"Kya hua Rey? Aap ro kyu rahen hai?"
He shook his head, wiping his tears and mumbled,
"Seeing you both, achanak mumma yaad aa gayin. She must have done all this na, which you will be doing for him now?"
Taani smiled, remembering her own mother, she was so young when her parents passed away, but she was lucky enough to have three mothers. Ragini and Avantika were always there for her too. She mumbled nodding,
"Yes Rey, we always knew how difficult it was for our parents to raise us, but ab hum vo sab experience bhi karenge. I hope we do as good as our parents did."
Rey nodded kissing her forehead softly,
"We'll be fine Taani. Sath mein sambhal lenge, and we are lucky, we have two sets of parents to guide us and such a big family."
Taani nodded remembering the gang, smiling widely, she asked,
"Aapne gang ko bata diya?"
He nodded an said caressing the baby's head who was now fast asleep, after his hunger was satisfied. Taani pulled away from the baby, and Rey helped her zip the gown up saying,
"They said they'll come in visiting hours."
She kept the baby's head on shoulder and lifted him up trying to make him burp after his food. After the baby burped, Rey told her,
"Ab tum bhi rest karo, I'll put him in the crib."
Taani asked concerned,
"Or aap? Aapne bhi to rest ni kiya kabse."
He caressed her head fondly after coming back from the crib,
"I am completely fine jaan. Don't worry about me. You take rest before the gang comes, you won't be able to after they are here."
She chuckled at his words, and nodded while he sat beside her holding her hand and looking after his two precious pearls.
